Two Loan Boys See Action In Carabao Cup

Liam Gibson started for Grimsby Town at home against Macclesfield in this evening’s cup match. It was only his second time on the pitch for the Mariners due to some injury trouble to start this season. However, the game only made it to the half-time before being suspended due to rain.

Elias Sorensen made his third appearance for Carlisle United from the bench. Sorensen came on in the 64th minute in Carlisle’s 2-1 loss to away to Rochdale.

Should be like germany, were fans own 51 percent of the club. Except for red bull for some reason.

Seems strange that the EPL have treated Bury and Bolton differently, one is out, the other has a further 14 days.

    Love the consistency.

The pyramid that is the Football in England is burning, and if it burns from the bottom the top will at least get smoke inhalation and a cough, and at worst will bring the pyramid down.

Its the generations of familys that have paid into a club to have it taken away by a bad owner is a shambles, thats why they dont do out as it proves the fit and proper test is just lip service.

    Micky,

My understanding from what I’ve read is that the prospective new owners for bury pulled out after they looked over the books and the current owner couldn’t make their financial commitments. Whereas Bolton are still in negotiations to sell the club so they get a two week stay of execution.

The one who was looking into acquiring bury was the financial advisor for the last owner if gateshead.
Crooks trying to move onto there next job.
Such a shame 130 odd years of history gone because of a mans greed.

    Micky,

It does sound familiar….although, to be fair, there is so much speculation surrounding NUFC that it’s difficukt to know what the truth is.

    The Wife

We’re very lucky in Newcastle, pretty much a 24hr city with beuatiful countryside and beaches within 30 minutes.

The parks are my favourite and as it happens I’ve just been in Jesmond Dene walking the dawg, every day Heaton park Armstrong park and Jesmind dene.

I’ve never looked into it but Newcastle must have some of the largest areas for parks in the UK possibly the world considering the actual size of the city.

Still the funniest thing I’ve seen Richie do was when Dubs was what looked to be pretending to be choking (I am sure he was wasting time or something) and signaled Richie to pat his back. Richie then proceeds to smash his back while laughing.

Nervy times, its best when you are proved wrong.
I hope if the team is “under strength” i hope a few of the lads make a mark.
Be interesting after reading bruces comments to see if he starts matty.
If he does hope he has a belta game, we have a few good 19 year olds. His goal pre season was no fluke.

This will be their chance to impress. Steve said he didnt know about astu until 5 days ago, and he didnt know about matty longstaff till he got here but hes ready for the first team.
Good luck the night hope its another gutsy performance where the lads work tirelessly again.

As long as the 11 on the pitch do the best they can I wont begrudge anybody who plays. I would love us to go for the win, and go all the way this year.

    NUFC,

Finally had a chance to do a little searching re your question, from back in the time Ed spoke to himself on the blog.

Unless some people went with different names, I may be the longest serving blogger on here. The names from back then are long gone. Maybe The Wife can confirm this or tell us who that is.

    Here I am, below, supporting… Xisco 🙂

Think we’ll get beat tonight due to half our first team being out for niggling injuries and fatigue ..hard to see muto grabbing a goal and think Rodgers will field a stronger team …
Here’s hoping for a sneaky win all the same …2-1 toon .. Matty Longstaff to grab a goal

Blog Hardman … Got to be Genji…. You don’t know what he’s capable of …he’s told us all a million times 😀

Most players who will sit out tonight’s game are fully fit to play. It’s club policy to leave cups early to help protect the squad from injuries and fatigue to protect the premier league status to maximize sports direct advertising. That’s a very fair statement

Football clubs should be owned by the community in which they operate. You would never get parasites owning our football clubs with the whole reason behind ownership being to make money from TV money, asset stripping or both.

I still think that a method such as council tax could used for supporting clubs, and run by an elected board from within the support structures. We need to rid ourselves of these parasites.

Genji – think Wolfsburg is wholly owned by VW albeit as a workers club and anyone can apply for membership – also although a fan can apply for membership of Leipzig the current members ( mostly red bull employees ) can reject it without reason – the rules not perfect but it’s way better than obligarchs and dodgy rich people buying a club on a whim

Honestly i feel for the bury fans.
They where scrubbing their stadium clean, hoping that this saturday would be their first game of the season.
They got it spotless, they were so proud of their efforts.
To.be let down by all involved.
What a sad state of affairs.
