Almiron A Delight To Work With But Missed A Couple Of Big Opportunities Says Bruce

Miguel Almiron had another frustrating day in front of goal. He’s getting into the right places but is lacking composure when afforded chances to score. Today he missed a few clear chances, and it must be starting to affect his confidence.

Steve Bruce gave an interview to Sky Sports after the draw this afternoon. He initially spoke about the team’s poor day in front goal:

“It was an unbelievable start for them and disappointing for us of course. It took a while, but I was delighted with the response. I thought in the second half if there was anybody going to win it, it was us. We’ve missed a couple of glorious chances, big chances.

“At this level, we say it so often, you’ve got to take them. Unfortunately, you don’t create many opportunities, and we created one or two great ones in the second half and didn’t take them.”

There were a few chances that the lads would like to have back today. They were straight through on goal a couple of times but were unable to beat Ben Foster who had an excellent game for Watford.

We are getting a little concerned with Miguel Almiron who is contributing, but still waiting for that elusive first goal.

This was Bruce’s response when specifically asked about Miguel Almiron’s missed chances:

“Miggy’s had a couple of big opportunities. We’re just hoping he can get one in and get off running. He gives so much so the team. Of course, the longer that hangs over him, you know not scoring, the more anxious everybody becomes.

“He’s a fabulous footballer, a delight to work with. He’s just had two big opportunities today, which hopefully when he takes one will give him the confidence to get more.”

Miguel needs to just take his foot off the gas sometimes, and be a little more cerebral in his play. While his pace is an integral part of his game and vital to Newcastle’s attack, his decision making is hurried at times.

That is particularly the case in the box where he seems to be frantic. He has a lot of ability, and his direct runs are frightening for the opposition. If he can find the right moments to collect himself, he will start adding assists and goals to his game.

What’s Munster and Boris Johnson riding a bike got in common?

Maybe the Munst will be on soon to justify a five man bus parked solidly at the back against a shower of crap like Watford at home.

Soon enough things will end up the same way it did for the Mackems
Giving away tickets is the start of the end,Jabba will asset strip everything on the way

People have simply had enough of the rubbish on offer inside the ground

I hope Jabba ends up in prison

    OP
A lot of fans have had enough of the devastation of our club! Every one now knows the reason why we underachieve every single season! It’s the owner who is obviously not a “fit and proper person” to be the owner of Newcastle United. We are a disgrace when you look at our revenues!

After 13 years i think thats long enough to wait around for whatever your saying is going to happen
We dont exist as a team anymore

Soon enough whats left of the crowd will vanish as we struggle, those who used to fill the ground have given up
The supporters are sick of it

Wont be long before theres nowt left of the club, nothing left to take for Jabba

4 games in now and we’ve have had a sizeable taste of VAR. How do people feel about it?

I feel referee’s have used it as a cop out and VAR can’t over rule a decision unless it’s clear and obvious.. But what’s clear and obvious in football?

Decisions are still unpredictable yet the game has suffered.

I think the transfer policy is a real worry, and of course the ego driven unwillingness to sufficiently change to accommodate a world class manager.

We will spend, but probably not well enough, and we most likely won’t be able to prepare what we have well enough to achieve anything of note either.

We’ll eventually go down again, unless the manager can rise to the occasion and most importantly stand up to Ashley over who comes and goes. I have some faith in Steve Bruce, albeit not much in the circumstances, but I have essentially none in the owner.

Eventually nobody will want to go

At the end of the day if your not happy with Ashleys running of the club you have a platform to join that is taken proactive action against Ashley.
Even if your abroad join the magpie group, we can link you with magpie supporter groups around the world.
    contact@magpiegroup.org
Is the email address if you have had enough of ashley.

In my opinion ashley gave away alot of tickets for boycott arsenal.
The away section today was empty even though it said it was sold out, empty spaces all over.
He is driving away fans, if this doesnt improve wait till February when people can cancel their 10 year deals.
Ashley needs to go now before he truly destroys the club.
He is asset stripping, its what he does.
Whether you attend the game or not you should attend the planned protests against him.
This is the future of your club at stake.

I posted earlier info about ticket sales.
The lad reckons there was about 8500 tickets still to sell. Yesterday at 2pm.
He also reckons there is about 5000 season ticket holders staying away, (thats not the ones that have already left)
He said the official figure would be 44k
He was saying there would be about 40k in SJP today.
    What do you think?

Well if we are in the bottom 3 come Jan Jabba might spend big, but i doubt its going to help

As by then the ground will be half empty
    Nobody cares anymore

Almiron’s the ‘fans” target this season? Already?

Why not, scapegoating a player’s nothing new, it’s always been the case at NUFC. Looking back to Frank Clarke and Tommy Gibb, John Tudor each underrated players but always the subject of unnecessary abuse.

It’s a pity ‘fans’ wouldn’t give their undivided attention to Ashley who’s today’s real problem!

If he dont appoint an auditor by Sept 11 the government will have to step in and appoint one for him as LSE rules
That means he will get someone who will expose the lies probably
It also means he will fall foul of other rules which could mean he cant run a company

Yes its a long shot but it would mean he would fail it and proper prem rules

Thats ignoring all the other stuff with Grant Thornton, the shareholders wanting to remove him from SD and the half a billion tax bill

    😉

He only wants us for the advert and the money available, its a poor advert in an empty ground. And it cost him in the Championship to keep us
It also means without the crowd its harder to keep his tat shop adverts in the prem, and even harder to get back once relegated

He needs the crowd hence all the PR to prevent exactly what is transpiring
