Watford Bring Back Head Coach Linked With Newcastle In Summer

Watford have parted ways with Javi Gracia today as he becomes the first manager sacked this season. Gracia was appointed in January 2018 when he replaced Everton’s current manager Marco Silva.

Watford have returned to a familiar face to succeed Gracia in former coach Quique Sanchez Flores.

Sanchez Flores returns to Vicarage Road where he was manager in 2015-16 upon their promotion to the Premier League. The Spaniard was surprisingly sacked following that season despite finishing in 13th position with 45 points.

This is the tenth time in the past eight seasons that Watford have made a coaching change.

The Telegraph had reported in early July that Newcastle were considering Quique Sanchez Flores to replace Rafa Benitez. However, if true, it does not appear that the 54-year-old was high on the list.

    Nufc-83,

We probably agree on a lot of things…..but calling fellow bloggers “thick” isn’t one of them
    It’s just not cricket mate…. 😀

    Nufc-83,

I’m all for healthy debate, but I don’t like the name calling (it doesn’t have to be bad language to be derogatory)
    You’re better than that.

    Says he hates Jabbs
    Defends him

Calls those who dislike him “ thick “

You actually support the toon ?
It’s not apparent from your posts

Neil was very keen on Quique coming to Newcastle. But we got Bruce. It will be interesting to see who does better in the table and who got it right.

    Toon22,

I’ll say the same to you as I said to nufc-83,

You don’t use bad language, granted

But you accuse people of either being in the pay of Ashley or not being supporters of the club.
Surely, you must realize that this is going to get an aggressive response?

In my opinion anyone will do better than our current manager
The sooner he is replaced the better

Watford, what a cheek they’ve got, fancy sacking him for the great job he did. Now having to get him back in. Hope we aren’t going to re visit any of our previous coaches, unless it’s Rafa of course.

    It’s not reasonable

    The wife,

The watford situation is quite interesting, Sanchez clearly knew when he was negotiating his new contract that the club were ‘going behind the back’ of the current manager .
And he himself had been dismissed for performances that have been mirrored since he left.

How can he possibly trust them, and why would he work for them again?
(I guess it’s all down to money)

    Carltoon,

I tend to go with the clubs that have ‘risked’ the most who are trigger happy with managers.
I have no idea how the season will pan out for us or anyone else.

But, my guess would be the Aston villa manger will go if things don’t work out (because they have the most to lose)
