Steve Bruce Says “Signs Are Encouraging” On Player’s Return

We’ve been very impressed with the rapid improvement of Joelinton in playing the number 9 role this season. His past two performances have been outstanding in his hold-up play.

Joelinton is the only option for that role right now. However, that may change in the next few weeks with Andy Carroll edging closer and closer to a return to full training.

There were whispers that next Saturday’s trip to Liverpool was a target date for big Andy’s return. However, he has yet to train with the team so that now seems unlikely.

The Chronicle have published an update from Steve Bruce on the progress of his big Geordie striker:

“I am never going to put an exact time on it.

“The good thing for the supporters is that there’s good work he’s done on the training ground with the rehab and physio people.

“The ankle has had no ill effects. He is not sore and not swollen.

“In the past, that has been the case.

“Let’s hope he can come and train with us for a couple of weeks.

“The early signs are encouraging.”

It is a positive sign that he has suffered no setbacks so far. However, the next step is a return to full training.

We would like to see at least two full weeks of Andy going through training sessions before he is even considered for a place in the matchday squad.

That would make the earliest game for Andy’s return to be at St James Park against Brighton on the 21st of this month. The next fixture is the following Sunday at Leicester City.

However, it’s all going to depend on how Andy fares over the next few weeks when we suspect he will begin training with the lads. If there are no setbacks during these sessions, that would be encouraging signs indeed.

My question is why havnt we grown in line with the rest of the premier league?
Not why have other teams caught us up.
I think you mis understand the point of my question.

Why even say it in the first place?
Its not as if hes a proven liar in court.

Sorry i missed your answer can you repeat so i understand you.
Put it so a simpleton like me can understand and explain why all prem teams have grown at the same rate of growth. Except for nufc?
We are the only team who has stagnated.
So tell me how? This doesnt make any sense to me when studying trends, and i would probably disregard it as a miss reading if i was doing a test.

Well they are right it is just standard business practice when ashley is involved.
People cheat its what business do. That one ashley quote is all you need to know.

    Genj let’s try this.

We were once a great team and well supported above other teams in the league. Ashley took over and since then we are a crap team who have been relegated twice while the owner turns fans against him. The other clubs mentioned in the league have been consistent in the prem and investing in their global brand (look at Everton with the China links).

Is it a surprise to you the teams mentioned have now caught up in terms of commercial revenue.

If you don’t get that then I really do give up.

nufc-83 – not sure we can pick and choose which parts of accounts we get to compare against , if we’re going down that path we may as well say Linton is as good as Messi …. well he has two legs, a body and plays football eh!

Everton were used as an example to base commercial revenue against nothing else. For example we wouldn’t compare our revenue against that of Man U so Everton seemed like a good example to use (even though most would think they are a much bigger club now).

He continued: “I am aware that the majority of football club owners are committed and passionate about their clubs. They recognise that fans are the pulse that keeps football clubs alive. However, too many clubs are being driven to the ground with no mechanism in place for fans to flag up misconduct.”

How many fans forums in the last 2 years ?
Once this bill is passed you can be sure i will be asking for Jabba to be investigated

Commercial revenue more than doubled as well, increasing from £12.1m to record levels of £26.7m (121%). Relegation had seen a steep drop in their commercial income, but an immediate return saw it exceed previous levels as Newcastle continue to exploit their huge fan base to good effect.

“Exploit their huge fan base to good effect.”
Thats all the finances want is to exploit Newcastles huge fan base. That is ashleys game and has been from day one.
That quote was taken from reileys link on newcastle.

I’m surprised our commercial revenue is so high and still above the likes of Everton (if you remove Europe league impact). Shows how passionate the fans are but that will continue to stagnate/decline while others surpass us.

Its is also presented that mike ashleys dealings with other sporting institutes is standard business practice on this blog.
So all this commotion at two clubs Ashley is heavily involved with by their fans is nothing to see here.
To the point where they won’t buy from the club due to ashleys and sports directs dealings with the club but its ok so whats all the fuss about.
Surely thousands of people in 2 different country’s are all wrong?
Aye its just them daft geordies and brothers across the border that are so thick that theyve found a conspiracy in nothing.
