Report – Andy Carroll Not Ready To Make Anfield Return, Likely Return Date Suggested

There is a report in the Daily Mail claiming that sources at the club feel Andy Carroll is unlikely to feature in this weekend’s match at Liverpool.

This news is not surprising due to comments Steve Bruce made about Andy Carroll over the weekend.

Bruce gave the following update on Andy’s progress a few days ago:

“I am never going to put an exact time on it.

“The good thing for the supporters is that there’s good work he’s done on the training ground with the rehab and physio people.

“The ankle has had no ill effects. He is not sore and not swollen.

“In the past, that has been the case.

“Let’s hope he can come and train with us for a couple of weeks.

“The early signs are encouraging.”

The report in the Daily Mail also references that Carroll has yet to train with the team. Therefore, if Steve Bruce wants Andy to train for a couple of weeks, his return would likely be closer to the end of the month.

It also looks like the home match against Brighton the following Sunday may be a bit too soon for Andy as well. It could all depend on whether he gets to train with the first team this week as they prepare for the Liverpool match.

Craig Hope in the Daily Mail suggests that the trip to Leicester City on September 28th is a more likely date for Big Andy to make his much-anticipated return for Newcastle United.

However, the good news is that there have been no set-backs for Andy Carroll so far. He has suffered no ill-effects from his month long rehabilitation at the club.

When looking for Ian Toon’s catchya later post, I stumbled upon this, it really does highlight what Munster mag really thinks of us Geordie’s despite his claimed early allegiance to the club, he’s backed all the managers happy to see us loll in mediocrity while Ashley tells us how shit we are but saw it as his divine right to critique the one manager who genuinely wanted what was best for the club.

    Shameless repost.

Ian good post re pardew in previous thread. As i said the sack pardew guys made geordies look stupid, or more to the point, pardew made them look stupid when he revived palace in a hurry. Carr and his control is the central issue at nufc now.

The fact that he tends to agree with Ian Toon, rebecca, Jack Root et al tells it’s own story anyway.

mallorcamag; finding a tenuous link between Ratcliffe and the signing of St Maxi seems very Jib like. Raised my suspicions.

I notice you use the same avatar as ‘Jeff From Benwell’ on nufcblog.org. What a crazy coincidence that is!

Jib was probably heading away to Spain for a week and decided to use the break to his advantage—what an upstanding guy, ‘banishing’ himself for a week at the same time as heading away to Spain.

If only he was smart enough to get away with it.

moanster you need to apologise to the blog for supporting King Percy and your insult to Toon fans who obviously had a more wisdom than you about said Cockney spiv and also your daft comment about his tenure at Palace.

After your apology can you do a Jib and absent yourself from the blog for a week.

Answered earlier Jail. You are so desperate to get one up on me that you bring forward your posts. Hilarious. Pardew was a bizarre appointment. I dont think the online campaign to sack him reflected well on us but its water under the bridge. But you have to try to dig things up because
    1. You’re a bitter little man.
    2. My points re rafa are valid and it annoys you that I wont accept your bizarre suggestion that the man, good as he was ( as I have so often highlighted) was beyond negative comment. Laughable. Go back to your taliban mates.

    Munster,
I didn’t dig it up at all, it was underneath a post from Ian Toon saying catchya later. Do you think his time at Palace vindicated those that wanted him gone from the club.
    Munster words,
    defecate
    denigrate,
    aggressive,
    bizarre,
    donnay and
    tarquin,
You really need to get out more Munster or perhaps even try reading a book, as for getting one up on you, what on earth are you trying to achieve by calling someone Tarquin every time he appears.
For the umpteenth time as well, nobody has said he was above criticism, he just didn’t deserve the spiteful and petty nitpicking you dished out everyday for three years.

Incorrect, again Jail. Any time I or others questioned tactics against weaker teams, late subs or self serving comments (we need a miracle) we were jumped on. This despite a huge number or positive comments I also made. Anything from the cancer suffering fan brought to training, to the foodbanks , to the back to the wall performances against wealthier teams, to the low injury lists, to schar, ki and others. I didnt want benitez to leave. But you cant allow yourself to accept that because it doesnt fit your constant anti munster fan bias. You continuously twisted my comments and lied (eg that I wanted nigel pearson). Blatant lies of a weasel, backed up by a nodding dog like tsunki . Well guess what fella, I know where I stand on benitez and I am utterly comfortable with both my negative and positive critiquing. If you want to fawn all day, off you go.
