Almiron, Atsu, And Shelvey All Start At Liverpool

Here is the team Steve Bruce has selected for today’s match at Anfield.

This is the lineup that most Newcastle fans would have expected with just Jonjo Shelvey coming in for Sean Longstaff. It looks like it will be the 5-4-1 that Bruce used at Tottenham with Atsu on the left and Almiron on the right. Jonjo Shelvey is going to need to graft like his life depends on it today. If not, there’s Matty Longstaff on the bench who we know will.

This is the Liverpool side the lads will face in about an hour. Joelinton’s Brazilian compatriot Firmino does not get the start today.

This is one of the most difficult fixtures of the season for Newcastle. We just hope they can put in a performance and any result would be an unexpected bonus. Let’s hope the international break has disrupted Liverpool’s momentum and the lads can nick a result.

Howay The Lads!

thought i would put this on as people have been going on about Indian curry houses…

Only the British, the Spanish and the Portuguese. The first curry recipe was published in a British cookbook in 1747. Curry powder is known as an 18th century British invention. Britain is known for popularizing curry around the world due to it being a staple with British military forces.

Better one EGB, but it’s BTSport, I usually look for the American ones as their commentary is not as banal. http://60fps.live/liverpool-vs-newcastle-united/

Repost – Re the ocean road curry houses, I can recommend the Radhuni Indian restaurant, there are six of us that meet up every week, on a wed night. Have done for over 13 years now. We don’t drink but do like our food. We tend to use tastecard which gives us meals at half price. We try different places and different type of cuisines, all over the north east. The Radhuni is the best curry house where we often visit. Took my wife there for her 70th birthday last Tuesday.

Back to football I’m going for a 1-1 draw with Schar scoring for us.

We had a curry in Brick Lane after going to the Body Show a few years ago. The one by the guy who plastifys and slices up real people.

It was a good job I have a strong stomach!

    Brilliant curry.

@AncientC reading that blog shows the Liverpool fans as arrogant, if we do get a result I’m going on that site and slate them. Nothing would give me more satisfaction than giving them a nose bleed.

    The Wife,
Hearing you got the Metro back is my worst fear, to say the town centre is down trodden is an understatement, apparently irreversible poor council decision making in the seventies that made the place soulless, they should move that Metro station to the beach 😮

    IrishRob,
No I’m not stupid, at least I think not, i just don’t get how you can blame Andy Carroll’s recovery on Steve Bruce.

Bruce would have no say in the training loads of injured players Irish, he can’t be blamed.

He may have been told ASM could play that game he got re injured at a risk and took it so potential for that but not the others

Oldgit1, I don’t think the Newcastle team is as bad as the Liverpool fans make out. Almiron could give them real problems.

Scapegoat Shelvey at the ready if things turn sour.

Can only hope to not get a hammering today I think. Anything else a bonus as with the Spurs match.

Keep it tight and confidence may grow the longer we can keep them out.

Think we’ll be too porous in midfield, especially with Shelvey in there. Liverpool much more direct than Spurs and have lots of players capable of dribbling at speed. Won’t just play sideways in front us at a low tempo.
