Dan Barlaser, unfortunately, only got on in injury time for Rotherham at Sunderland tonight. Though, the game ended 1-1 in what Sunderland will see as two points lost. So we are sure that Dan had some influence on his teammates even if it was mostly from the bench.

Elias Sorensen did not get on the pitch again in Carlisle’s 0-0 draw at home to Forest Green. This is turning into another disappointing loan spell for the youngster who will turn 20 years old tomorrow. He has played just 113 minutes through four appearances. In his only start at Scunthorpe, he was pulled at half-time. He has now not featured in Carlisle’s last two matches.

Liam Gibson made his second straight start at Salford City this evening. The Mariners lost the match 1-0 but Liam has played his first full match in the league. This is good progress for Liam who has struggled to get into the Grimsby side since returning from a pre-season injury.

Aye that’s true and yes the financial semantics can be very confusing but as I see it if someone owns 63% of a business then he has the control of the finances. A bit simplistic I’ll admit but then as far as business finances are concerned I’m a simple person.
My missus is in control of the finances in my domain.

Comment #43Geordietom mentioned cruising earlier today and others joined in on the craic. I was tempted to post this fitting track then but thought it best to leave for the nightshift. Since the chat went on to boat parties well, here you go – it’s a must to sing as your cruising on the Tyne

This Pistols’ version’s not the original which I came across in the sixties on an album called ‘Bawdy Sea Shanties’

Your view is not simplistic at all, anyone who owns 63% of a business does control it.
However, for a publicly traded company like SDI….there are a lot of hoops they have to jump through, and right now they are failing miserably.

I read those comments today re:cruising
I have to be honest, I also have been bitten by the cruising bug, we go every year in the winter time (it’s good to escape from the Snow)

BTW, the first album I ever bought (with my own money) was “the great rock n roll swindle” – my mother was not pleased when played it 🙂
I was only a wee whipper snapper at the time and didn’t really understand what it was all about.

Extremely busy day for me today, but I did read some of the blog earlier and saw the debate on posting links. Neil says it’s fine, as long as it’s not done excessively. But I do need to mention that sometimes posts with links are filtered to the blog’s Spam folder, so if you post one and it doesn’t appear, it may be due to that and not because Neil (or I) have decided to moderate that more stringently.
Also a lot of chatter about MA taking out a loan. Neil seems to think its no big deal and that MA’s done it before. I really don’t know what to think. I don’t have an MBA, so I’m not going to wade into the deep end of that particular pool. 🙂
If it were me, that 605m tax bill is what would be keeping me up at night, lol. MA has a lot of things going wrong just now, and I think he’s feeling rather cornered and getting desperate?! I’m interested to see what Wednesday brings with him still without an appointed auditor.

Comment #50Also intrigued by the conversation on cruising. I’ve only been on one cruise, and I’m fairly certain it was my first and last. My mother thoroughly enjoyed herself (we did a 5-day Christmas cruise to the Bahamas), but to me…it was like being on a floating prison. 😀

Shola’s role is to assist getting the young players on appropriate loans, and monitor the situation ongoing. Sorensen seems to have flopped, but the rest seem to be working out pretty well at the moment. Whether it is him doing well, or luck who knows.
On Sorensen, I remember he struggled to settle when he moved here. Could it be that he is struggling in unfamiliar surroundings? The more disappointing thought is that he just isn’t good enough to get a game. If he was doing it in training, he would be playing more. We may be better off bringing him back, but depending on the agreement, we may not be able to until January.

I agree with Neil, I don’t don’t think it’s a big deal.
Look at any other premier league club and they do the same,
it’s simply satisfying the trade off between the biggest income (media revenue, which is paid in “bulk” at several stages of the season) and the biggest outgoing (wages, which are paid equally year round)
It’s not even a loan, it’s simply an extension to the current revolving credit facility that already exists.
BTW, that Belgium tax bill will never ever be paid (as it exists now) – I’ll be absolutely shocked if more than 30% of it is actually paid.

Unfortunately it has got to the point where not a single supporter barring, Bills Son is Back, Jib, Nufc–83 or Murton Mag believes a word the horses mouth says, if they loved us as much as we love the club you would put all your faith in what they say as you would think they had the clubs best interest at heart, they do not give a foot about us. They have watched us bomb in the interest of selling Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Cabaye and Mitrovich and thinking it’s all ok, there is not one shred of interest in the success or the fans that actually keep the club going, Enough is enough!

We all read The Mag, Nufc.com, The Chronicle and The Journal and when we are seriously seriously bored, venture on to .co.uk around every six months, and when we do it’s only to remind us of how good this place is. I think it shows how passionate NUFC fans are and how lucky that us lot are when you see how lively this place is, go on to the Palace, Spurs, West Ham blogs and there’s a load of displaced comments talking about things that happened weeks ago that get comments every six hours if not two days, this is by far the most popular blog in the whole wide world, even though Jib posts on it, who by per chance is very popular with certain readers and people who don’t post just read 😮

I wouldn’t argue with you.because :-
A) it serves no purpose
B) I suspect you would like me too
C) the four examples you give are all players that had no future at NUFC (for various reasons, mostly their own)
Just for the record I have never stuck up for the way the club is run….I just do not base my opinions on speculation, myths and lies.
I base it on solid research and facts, which are few and far between on this blog.

I never ever boo’d Shola but understand why he never got a testimonial, the current stand off with the club makes me dislike players I should think highly of, when I hear Shola saying that Mike Ashley cares about the club boils my pee and makes me think much less of him, Matt Ritchie, one of my favourite players, I have instantly thought less of him when he came out with that statement, we stood by the lot of them when they argued about their bonuses instead of saying you greedy footers you earn a 100 times more than us, we backed them up.

I don’t fancy a Caribbean cruise as you say one port is the same as the other, If I ever visit Cuba I wouldn’t want to stay in an all inclusive and rather visit Havana, depends what you want from a holiday, like many Spaniards, Italians and Greeks, Americans have no real need to leave the US other then curiosity as you have so much there to see , us Northern Europeans have to leave because of the weather 😮
