Newcastle Regular Set To Double His Wages In New Deal

A few days ago Martin Dubravka revealed that he was very close to signing a new contract with Newcastle. He is currently on the deal he signed when he joined permanently from Sparta Prague last summer.

This is what Martin said on Sunday:

“I’m happy here. Since I came here, people have treated me really well. I can say that I feel at home here. I’m glad that people think that I can stay here for the longer-term.

“It’s such a big honour for me. Hopefully, we can keep our players in the squad, our leaders, and we can build on this.

“We’re in talks. I’m close. That’s what I can say.”

Dubravka has played every minute in the Premier League for Newcastle since making his debut against Manchester United in February 2018. The 16 times capped Slovakian has also grown into one of the leaders at the club.

It makes sense for Newcastle to want to give Martin a better contract. This is especially true in light of the recent interest shown in the 30-year-old by some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Martin Dubravka– How much you got, Lee?

Football Insider is reporting that a Newcastle source has revealed that Martin is set to double his wages to £70k/week in his new deal. That would make Martin one of the highest-paid players at the club.

If Newcastle can get this deal done, we expect it to the first of many as Newcastle tie down their core group of players to long-term deals.

Need to keep Dubs. I know he could have done better with mane goal but if he was a zero error keeper he wouldn’t be here.

Jail, tom – ha ha wish I was minted. We get extra money being over here and I’ve had no time off since last December so splashed out.
The flights are via the US Air Force so saved on that cost too.

Best make the most of it before coming back to UK and holidaying on The Sun vouchers 🙂

So it seems Jabba wants to spend next seasons transfer budget
So next season we can’t buy players at all ?

I severely doubt the money will be spent on the club

    As per usual

    hibbit,
You beat me to it, I remember seeing on telly that in London ( but can’t remember where) then googling that this place had a large population of parrots, I guess they’ve no natural predators there and great to see some form of life flourishing instead of going extinct, would be much better to see Trafalgar Square full of Macaws and Flamingoes instead of just pigeons 😀

NUFC’s monthly player salaries total £3.2M
The first tranche of PL dosh is £30M paid in January

So from now until then the club has to find in the order
of £25M to pay the players and other staff

That is what the Barclays credit line is for

Why do they need to find money for wages when I thought that was allocated when we bought a player? Or is that another load of Guff from our supreme leader?

That’s strange I can’t remember hearing about anything of the sort last year? Why would he even need to get a loan from Barclays, wouldn’t the full amount of net income be adequate enough to just pay players wages?

So we spunked all our cash in the summer window?

If we’re getting a loan until Jan, will we be getting another in Jan for recruitment?

Hand to mouth is no way to run any business.

For the benefit of those who call Jonjo lazy this is copied from one of the miscreant links put up earlier. 😉

Off the top of his head, Bruce knew that Sean Longstaff ran more than anyone else in sweltering conditions at Spurs, for example, or that Jonjo Shelvey was among the top six from both teams for distance covered against Leicester.

Those parakeets are a nuisance as they are displacing native birds, similar in a way to the grey squirrels are ousting the Reds.

That’s the probable reason why the RSPB sanction their culling.

There’s loads of them around Greenwich.
