Longstaff, Krafth, And Muto All Start At Leicester City

This is team that Steve Bruce will send out to face Leicester City this afternoon.

It’s a surprise start for Yoshinori Muto who looks like he will partner Joelinton upfront. We are not too sure of the formation though it definitely looks like it will be a back four unless Bruce is using Christian Atsu as a left wing-back.

This could be a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 with Joelinton playing behind Muto, who scored in the Carabao Cup against the Foxes.

We expected Emil Krafth to be drafted back into the side. Sean Longstaff is also back after missing the last two games with his ankle injury.

Andy Carroll and Allan Saint-Maximin again start from the bench. The big surprise is that Jetro Willems has not made the match-day squad. We see that Javier Manquillo and DeAndre Yedlin are there. We hope Jetro has not sustained an injury.

Here is the team Brendan Rodgers has selected for Leicester City.

As expected, Dennis Praet comes in for the injured James Maddison. Former Magpie Ayoze Perez gets his second start against Newcastle since leaving this summer.

Let’s hope for a reaction similar to the one at Tottenham. We expect the lads to play much better today. The return of Sean Longstaff could make all the difference.

Howay The Lads!

How is Christian Atsu playing in the premier league? His only really ability is the ability to run. Its astonishing that people rate him.

FFS far too easy. Was doing alright too.

May as well have 10 on the pitch with Joleinton out there. Not touched the ball yet or affected the match in any way.

Non existant midfield. Clueless going forward still. Slightly more possession but idealess as normal.

Dubs just punted the ball towards Joe who had Muto in close attendance to pick up the loose ball. Didn’t come off but a lot better than hitting it to an isolated forward.

Longstaff and Hayden are playing like they have 5 defenders behind them
With 4 at the back our defensive midfielders must have positional discipline
If one ventures forward the other must sit back

Problem is Joelinton is no target man.

Well I predicted 1-1. Just hope we can keep it to this at worst through to HT. A lot is going rely on ASM and Andy I think.

Still plenty of time, we just have to take our chances if they come.

We seem to get caught in possession too often, surely no matter what language you speak ‘Man on ‘ is easy to understand.

This is hard to watch, the most toothless team we have had for years. All individuals and bad ones at that. Total rubbish. Being a lifelong fan watching them for 50 years this is painful and sad to watch.

Leicester very close marking our forwards, midfielders and Schar cannot find options for forwards passes, get picked off when they try.
Long staff still doesn’t look match fit. Almiron made several long crossfield runs but no end product. Doesn’t seem to have any idea of where his team mates are.

What is with the Leicester players going in on Schar? There must be some leftovers from the last game. Schar will be on a revenge mission.
