Newcastle At Leicester – Pre-Match Poll Results, Predictions, and Injuries

This is our predicted line-up for this afternoon’s match at Leicester City. It has three changes from last weekend’s match against Brighton with Allan Saint-Maximin, Sean Longstaff, and Emil Krafth coming in for Christian Atsu, Jonjo Shelvey, and Javier Manquillo

Steve Bruce has for a second week running received an injury boost. Last week it was Allan Saint-Maximin and Andy Carroll who made their returns to the matchday squad. Today could see both Sean Longstaff and DeAndre Yedlin back in contention. That leaves just three players ruled out due to fitness.

Newcastle Injuries

Florian Lejeune – knee, Matt Ritchie – ankle, Dwight Gayle – calf

Leicester Injuries

Matty James – achilles, James Maddison – ankle (late fitness test)

In our poll for this match, the clear majority of voters see Newcastle getting nothing out of the game. Of the 1,021 votes, 633 picked Newcastle to lose this match. Just 11% have picked the lads to get all three points which would see them move to 13th spot in the table. After yesterday’s results, Newcastle dropped to 19th in the table.

What Will Be The Result Of Sunday's Match At Leicester City?

  • Loss (62%, 633 )
  • Win (21%, 219 )
  • Draw (17%, 169 )

Total Voters: 1,021

I would rather play Manquillo and surprisingly at left back.

If Shelvey is injured and Sean is coming back from injury, then surely Ki should start under normal operating conditions. Then the young Geordie can come on to gain match fitness and swing the game to rapturous applause.

If you honestly thought that bringing in Bruce to steady the ship was a feasible idea then you’re as daft as the person who brought him in to do that.

Shelvey injury is a bonus. Sean is a quality player. If we get taken over regardless of who it is and how much money they have it will be much better than current situation.

Who said I thought it was a good idea to bring him in jail?? If you cant understand what I said then you’re softer than all of the guys involved in bringing him in.

    It’s happened again!
My head is saying we’ll get hammered today but my heart is telling me to have a bet on the lads to get something today!
    So I’m going for a 2-2 draw!
    Howay the Lads !

A draw would at least get us out of the bottom 3.

Isn’t it great having hopes like that. 🙁

Just wish we’d play 4231, defensively sound & it puts your offensive players in the right areas of the pitch, pretty standard formation for the premiership

I think that there are some rose coloured glasses on today. Things don’t always go to form but Leicester have only conceded 5 goals in six games, and we have scored 4 goals in six games.
I think my money would be on 0-0 at best.
