Newcastle came out unchanged from how they ended the first-half. They were immediately under the gun as Leicester continued with the same dominance as in the first forty-five minutes.
Jamie Vardy got a chance in the 54th minute and he was able to beat Martin Dubravka at his near post. It was another goalkeeping error from Martin and that goal basically killed any hope for Newcastle.
Three minutes later Dennis Praet’s shot was deflected by Paul Dummett and Dubravka was helpless to prevent it going into the net. That made it 3-0 and you had to think if the floodgates would open up.
Steve Bruce– it all went wrong today
Steve Bruce inexplicably brought Andy Carroll on in the 62nd minute. Why he would risk him we have absolutely no idea. This was a decision that bordered on negligence.
Not soon after Andy’s introduction, Jamie Vardy would make it 4-0. They would add a fifth through a Wilfred Ndidi goal in the 90th minute
DeAndre Yedlin did make his first appearance of the season when he came on for Miguel Almiron in the 74th minute.
The hole gets deeper for Steve Bruce and the players after another dreadful display. The first goal was the turning point but the Hayden sending off ended up being the final nail in the coffin. Newcastle showed nothing after they went down to ten men.
Questions will be asked about Steve Bruce’s ability to pull this team from these depths. He asked to be judged on results and in 8 matches Newcastle have only 1 win. They have also scored only 4 goals and look anemic in attack. More worrying is that this is the third performance that has been truly disgraceful this season.

You would say this could get embarrassing for Newcastle, but they’ve already hired Steve Bruce to replace Rafa Benitez, so I’m not sure embarrassment is a thing for them anymore.

Comment #8Moonraker, wet pitch, can’t stop mid air, the other guy goes in too. In other times, not even a yellow
?
Anyway, I accept the red but tough luck. Ask Ritchie, still out, the other guy didn’t get a red.

Comment #9Curious to see what Bruce is gonna say. He looks out of his depth. Should have never been given the job but nobody would touch us under Ashley.
Bruce has to be sacked now but I wonder who will come to us. Bruce may be sacked at Christmas but by then relegation should just be a formality.

Comment #16A typical Newcastle display, not supprised at all with the score. I genuinely think this will be our last season in the Premier league for some time.
Pathetic display today.

Comment #20Personally I thought we matched them.
Right until kick off that is.
Bruce is tactically useless, he’s also apparently managed to remove all spirit and heart from the players.
That was just pathetic to watch, it was less fun than reading through the pitiful squabbling on here.

Comment #21Bruce asking Almiron to be more selfish..instead asking the team to improve on their teamwork.
On previous occasion Schar have a shoot when clearly he could have pass for the awaiting Almiron.
other occasion like Joe could have work with the awaiting Almiron but he choose not to.
Those are clear chances that needs improvement on teamwork. Base on trust and effort.

Jamaal Lascelles tells @SkySportsPL
: “We were terrible. It was unacceptable. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror after that. I’ve never lost 5 goals since I’ve been here. We could’ve rolled our sleeves up and got into shape – we didn’t do that.”

For me it’s our failing to beat the Canaries that speaks volumes about Bruce.

Comment #34Look on the bright side lol. I honestly think Ashley will sell for whatever he can get now. He knows from the summer he can’t get better than Bruce – that’s obvious. He must also know that when – not if – we go down, we won’t bounce back this time. That leaves him with the inevitability of losing millions. Having already lost millions with Debenhams, he can’t afford to lose more.
He’s finished us for the foreseeable future unless we lose Bruce and bring in someone not out of his depth. The only way that’ll happen is under a new owner. He must know he’s finished now.
