Who Did Our Readers Select As Least Culpable At Leicester City?

In a poll we probably titled wrong by using the word ‘best’ in it, Fabian Schar has narrowly been selected as the least of the poor performers against Leicester City.

It was a match in which many of the players described as unacceptable. It also came on the heels of the terrible Brighton display which Fabian himself described with an expletive last week.

Of the 868 total votes, Schar claimed 186 of them for 21%. Also coming in at 21% was Andy Carroll, who missed out as the winner by only five votes. Christian Atsu also performed well in the poll with over 100 votes.

However, it was Fabian Schar who has won his second straight poll as best (least poor?) player.

The next match is also the late Sunday game against Manchester United at St James Park. We will need to see something from the lads in that match before the international break. We cannot have three straight disgraceful performances going into the break.

Who Was Newcastle's Best Player In 5-0 Submission At Leicester City?

  • Fabian Schar (21%, 186 )
  • Andy Carroll (21%, 181 )
  • Christian Atsu (12%, 103 )
  • Jamaal Lascelles (7%, 58 )
  • Sean Longstaff (6%, 55 )
  • Isaac Hayden (6%, 54 )
  • Miguel Almiron (5%, 44 )
  • Yoshinori Muto (4%, 39 )
  • DeAndre Yedlin (4%, 34 )
  • Emil Krafth (4%, 34 )
  • Joelinton (3%, 27 )
  • Paul Dummett (3%, 25 )
  • Martin Dubravka (2%, 20 )
  • Ki Sung-yueng (1%, 8 )

Total Voters: 868

Tsunki, you are of course right – Rafa in serving us so well and still being left to hang out to dry did indeed highlight just exactly what a rotten, foetid pile we have infesting the boardroom. You’re also right that by leaving with his honour intact he’s ensured that the maximum focus has come onto Ashley and his poor practice and all other top coaches who see the potential for a project here will quickly look the other way.

What a terrible, sad state of affairs for our once-great club that this is what we’ve come to.

The analogue and digital phrase has been all over since Thomas Cook problems last week, Douglas is the 4th journalist in less than a week I’ve seen use it.

I think we can lose5-0 next match and it probably wont get us a change of manager. If we do, someone mentioned gracia. Given he wudnt need compo that cud happen. Did well with watford until this season and it was a surprise when they sacked him so soon but thats watford . Plays attacking football and his average spend per player isnt huge. Very hardto replace benitez. Only a new owner plus manager will give us the ‘new start” that nufc needs.

I have noticed a trend of posters and pundits laying blame at the players but for me, look back on the past 3 years. Majority of the squad remain and what they have been known and praised for is the willingness to work hard.

Heads dropped in the second half v Leicester but players were still running and trying. That’s the minimum we ask for.

So it doesn’t quite sit right with me when I see shots fired at the players.

Charnleys name is kept out of the frame in all this ..He should resign , he’s US .

Charnley is complicit in overseeing Ashleys taking from the club.. and running Newcastle United as part of Sports Direct .

Charnley needs to feel the heat, he’s getting off lightly

Charnley is ( I hesitate to use profanity) useless and prostitutes himself for his salary from Ashley by issuing and presiding over misleading statements to the lifeblood of the club, the supporters, coupled with the scullduggery that seen Rafa leave because of lack of ambition shown to him from the hapless coniving pair.

Charnley is morally bankrupt . He’s working at a football club therefore the football club should come first in every aspect …it does not though, he protects Sports Directs interests first,
    Allegedly .

Charnley out , Ashley ? Well he can burn in Hell.

I wouldn’t exactly call Gracia an attacking manager and wherever he’s been, he’s never been known as an attacking manager. He’s actually closer in style to a Rafa Benitez lol.

Thought he did a real good job at Watford but wasn’t given any time to turn around a bad run of form. Think what didn’t help was a couple big money signings were sat on the bench and weren’t being given the expected game time those at the top at Watford wanted.

It’s worth remembering that he didn’t make any signings at Watford, they were bought for him to mould in to a team.

Regardless of what Jib says to or about OLG, you gotta admit the Joe Walsh clip of “Analog Man” along with Jeff Lynne was top drawer! 😉
