Newcastle Fans Cannot Let Their Frustrations Lead To Them Confronting Players

The Chronicle have put out a report describing scenes after the Leicester City match in which some of the traveling fans confronted captain Jamaal Lascelles after the game. The fans were gathered outside the tunnel and Jamaal was the only player to go over to see them.

He signed autographs and repeatedly apologized for the team’s terrible performance. However, the following video shows that some fans were not satisfied and asked the captain for cab fare home. When Lascelles didn’t produce any cash for them, the fans brought up the fact that he made £40k/week.

By all means tell Jamaal that you were upset with the team’s performance but trying to shame a player for not giving you money is going way too far. Lascelles was the only player to go over to the crowd and profusely apologized to them. He posed for pictures and signed autographs.

On Monday, Allan Saint-Maximin posted the following video of a goal he scored during that day’s training session. He put #FeelingGood with the video.

A Newcastle fan took umbrage with this phrase and responded to the video on Twitter. Allan responded to that fan’s tweet.

Allan didn’t even feature against Leicester City and was one of the few positives in the Brighton games. We understand the frustrations with the way things are heading for the club at the moment. However, it mustn’t boil over into incidents like these.

    Zak Atkinson plays for Shildon

He’s a Boro supporter and is a very big-headed young man

A growing number of Newcastle supporters are frankly embarrassing and giving us a bad reputation in all manner of ways.

Ruining the reputation built up as one of the best clubs to play for because of the fans.

Word will spread not to sign for us because we’re a petty, aggressive, volatile bunch, just as we’ve benefited in the past from the image of us been fun-loving, loyal and raucous.

    The club is falling apart.

    Yes the clubs falling apart

    Why ?

After 13 years of lies and being mugged off people have gone beyond sick and are now becoming angry
Its all so predictable, lets blame the fans for what Jabba has done to the club
The problem is the fans have stopped caring what the PR might say, or the newspapers
    Or anybody

My first opinion made prior to seeing the image was that using a character from a sweet packet was meant to be complimentary. However the character obviously draws on stereotypes that are generally understood to be demeaning.

This article is about fan behaviour. Get up out of bed you dosser and ask your mother if two wrongs make a right.

Fans are responsible for how they act regardless of what Ashley is doing.

Having consistently the highest number of arrests in the league is shameful. Having fans hounding players on social media and being spiteful in their interactions is shameful – this is happening increasingly frequently with lots of different players. Having a go at the captain and begging him for money when he clearly stated he hasn’t got any on him is embarrassing, doubly so by bringing his wage into it.

Currently giving the players every reason to throw the towel in and make their plans for exiting at the end of the season.

Suppose some will get what they want. Make the club so toxic we collapse into the Championship and stay there, regardless of if Bruce goes by the end of this month. You’re a putting a lot of faith in the argument Ashley would then sell to make it all worth it.

#BoycottAshley ( OP) @18 – The conguitos character looks nothing like a monkey so I still don’t get it. The character has no hair and a round face as did Mendy when he was young which is obviously what Silva was getting at – anything else and people are seeing things that aren’t there!

Having dodgy knees is not a nice thing.

Jib – sorry to hear about your dodgy knees – a common malady of the knee cap (the patella) is “housemaids knee”.

As you are a nutter could this be one of those instances where you do not suffer housemaids knee when you appear as Jib but it occurs when you transform into Jane.

This club is like a domestic abuse case. Some fans are apathetic from years of abuse and some have just left. Can you really blame the very few, whose actions are misguided, from lashing out?

Nope. People are responsible for their own actions. You can rise above and be purposeful, rational and still have the same objective, without having the burn it all down spiteful attitude that some embody.

I know some people have abandoned their love for football, NUFC and blame Ashley for it – they have given him that power without realising it though.

All they have left is their chaos for kicks nihilism and to take their emotions out on what they used to love.

Lindisfarne, its 2 pictures side by side. I think the safest thing to assume is that’s the full depth and breadth of it from Silva and Mendy’s perspective.

We live in a society where people are constantly vigilant for an opportunity to “be offended” either for themselves or someone else. They seem to feel that this “championing” validates their existence.

I’ve no problem with any of this, they need a kick up the backside badly, and feeling sorry for them just because they came over to sign autographs or because they score a goal in training is ridiculous, they need to hear this kind of thing because its only the fans that can drive them on atm it seems. That’s the best I’ve ever seen Maxi run, do it in a real match though.

You’e trying to justify fans toxic behaviour towards players and their general misbehaviour by blaming Ashley. Sorry, not buying it.

If they really want to take action against the perceived cause then they’d direct their ire at Ashley and find different ways of doing so.

Their impotent minds and lack of organisation is no excuse for tapping away on keyboards at players, confronting them and acting pathetic, that isn’t doing anything to Ashley.

As I said, those you claim have abandoned all care and now just want to burn it all down may get their wish. We could well end up in the Championship next season and maybe worse soon after, Ashley going because of that is a different matter.

Tarnishing our reputation as good humoured, loyal and supportive fans in the process will do nothing for the long-term health of the club though.

The aim should be removal of Ashley whist doing minimal possible damage to the club. Do away with the toxicity towards players.
