Returning Newcastle Player Gets International Call-Up

DeAndre Yedlin has been called up for the US Men’s National team by coach Greg Berhalter. The US will face Canada and Cuba in the CONCACAF Nations League next Friday and the following Tuesday.

Yedlin has missed out on the last 10 matches for the USA including the 6 matches of the Gold Cup. During the last international break, the US had friendlies against Mexico and Uruguay. Nick Lima of the San Jose Earthquakes and Reggie Cannon of FC Dallas had filled in for Yedlin during his absence. DeAndre looks set to add to his 59 caps for the USA.

The 26-year-old made his return from sports hernia surgery at Leicester City on Sunday. We would like to see DeAndre get a start his weekend against Manchester United. With Jetro Willems back in full training after suffering a knee problem last week, we could see some real pace down the flanks if they both are picked for Sunday’s game.

Newcastle must show improvement this weekend at St James Park. Going into the international break on three straight dreadful performances would be completely unacceptable. Bruce should hold the players accountable and draft some others into the team this weekend. Players like Yedlin, Federico Fernandez, and Matty Longstaff have barely featured. This Sunday might be a good opportunity for them to get their first Premier League starts of the season.

If theres no improvement and no reaction this Sunday against a Manure team not performing then could it be a good time to to change the manager with a two week break for Internationals coming up??????

The time to change the manager was the the day he signed. Since then the elites at the club have set on their hands, not reacted and watched the system deteriorate. This is the sequel to McClaren. And we all knew it before a football was kicked.

Charlie, and admit they got it catastrophically wrong, spunked 4M in compo and whatever they have to pay the oaf and his team to get shot of them, not on your nelly, they’ll point to the fact he has more points on the board than Rafa at the same time last year and they’re going to give him time to turn it around.

I think you are right, I cant see how Bruce will turn this around – more so since hearing about Lascelles replies relating to ‘Rafa is gone’ and ‘what can he do’ (Twitter posts after Leicester match)

Big question though, who would be willing to take over, I would imagine since the summer no new manager targets have just appeared. We allegedly spoke to many managers and ended up with our ‘First Choice’ Bruce just over a week before season kicked off.

Who (Decent) would take this job, Fat Sam ? Pards ? Clarkie ?

    It’s a worry mate.

Yet another divisive topic from the questionably aligned Hail for Ashley – let’s not forget even his name was designed to irritate so his raison d’etre is pretty clear – speciously deducing that NUFC fans are a blight and shameful representation of the club, just because a few knucklechewers made a hash of their bad tempers following another football lesson.

Give it a rest Hail, there are plenty of plonkers in all fan groups – ours are hardly remarkable. We might have a great arrest tally now but I’m sure it will only take an incident or two for another clubs fans to wrest that honour from us.

More points now but we will be cast adrift by Christmas with what I have seen this season
Not got a goalscorer – relying on Gayle and Carroll to get our goals is madness unless they most games which I cannot see due to injuries which they always seem to have

Reading Martin Samuel’s comments in Nufc.com, (apologies to the Harrisons for the massive disrespeck there), who is Ashley trying to convince we’re for sale, surely he must know that we don’t believe for a minute we think he actually does want to sell us, is he thinking that if he just keeps getting his lackeys to repeat it we’ll actually start believing it, or is he really starting to believe his own lies as apparently compulsive liars do.

On the Silva thing I think the worst part about it I’d the twit hadnt the sense to think beforehand whether it was a good idea to publicly make his daft comment available. That’s the real crime.he should know better and just think of a better gag or just keep it private between friends and risk them driving his teeth down his throat.

Everyone should know better now than to voice any kind of opinion or joke where the pc hawks are poised to get all over it like a Primark onesie. The more “tolerant” society becomes, the more rabidly intolerant it actually is. I reckon the unremarkable ones in society are just going to have to wait it out – eventually they will become a victimised minority and will have rights again 🙂

If someone came in I would not want to see the old guard – hippo heed, moyes or Pullis
Me a young foreign manager or if it had to be English
Off the top of my head maybe Campbell – did a decent job at Macclesfield kept them up but left because he and the players were not getting paid
Who knows but it is not working – players have not got a clue where they are playing or what they are doing at the minute
It has to be sorted either Bruce sorts it out on Sunday or go

are we seeing a shift in how the Chronicle report the going on’s at the club they seem to have adopted a much firmer line over the last few weeks ??

Lee Ryder’s assessment of the situation will do little to raise hopes on Tyneside.

Writing in a Q&A for the Chronicle (15.53), he said: “It’s fair to say he [Kenyon] is interested but having the money is another question.

“Even in the week that brought fresh takeover talk, the only feedback from the Ashley end has been that things are NOT serious at the moment.

“When Kenyon has the funds that might change.”

In short, things are seemingly no further forward than they ever have been, and you have to wonder how many more times this cycle of rumour, excitement, heartbreak can be repeated before all hope is lost entirely.

It already feels as if we are quickly approaching that point, and nobody can blame supporters for their cynicism.

But after this latest claim from Ryder, suggesting that Ashley does not view Kenyon’s bid as a serious option, you have to wonder whether this will be the straw to break the camel’s back.

The controversial owner has to realise that he must either drop his asking price or drop the act, because he cannot expect to keep treating United fans like idiots and not see an increase in unrest, and potentially even boycotts.
