Our Predicted Line-Up For Sunday Against Manchester United

If ever there was a time for Steve Bruce to make a bold move in his team selection, it is after the surrender against Leicester City. We think now is the perfect opportunity for Bruce to bring in some fresh faces to hopefully breathe new life into the team.

After last week’s performance, no players should be undroppable. We think Bruce will make a few tough calls in his starting eleven. This is the side we predict will face Manchester United on Sunday.

Steve Bruce has all but admitted that going to a back four last weekend did not work. Martin Dubravka said the same thing in an interview a few days ago. We think that Bruce will revert to a familiar 3-5-3/5-4-1 now that Jetro Willems is available for selection.

In our prediction, there are four changes to the side that started last weekend. DeAndre Yedlin comes into the starting line-up to replace Emil Krafth. Getting the pace of Yedlin into this team makes a lot of sense. With three at the back, it also puts less emphasis on Yedlin’s defensive liabilities.

Matty Longstaff could get his first Premier League start in place of the suspended Isaac Hayden. Bruce mentioned Matty was part of the equation in his press conference this morning. We just have a feeling he will get the nod and start alongside his brother Sean.

Jetro Willems is available after a knee problem kept him out last week. This change pretty much speaks for itself as there are no other options at left wing-back. Due to the formation change, Yoshinori Muto would lose his place.

In what could be a controversial move, we see Allan Saint-Maximin replacing Miguel Almiron on the right-wing. Saint-Maximin has been pushing for a first-team place since returning from injury. Miguel just hasn’t done enough in the final third and we see the Frenchman getting the nod for this game.

Steve Bruce needs to find something to get this team headed in the right direction. We believe that he will be willing to shake up the side in an attempt to do that. Bringing in local lad Matty Longstaff and the electrifying Allan Saint-Maximin could also help liven up the crowd from the start.

With only Florian Lejeune and Matt Ritchie ruled out for selection through injury, there will be competition for places on the bench as well. This is how we see the substitutes bench for Sunday:

Karl Darlow, Emil Krafth, Federico Fernandez, Ki Sung-yueng, Miguel Almiron, Yoshinori Muto, and Andy Carroll

We think it will be too soon for Dwight Gayle and Jonjo Shelvey despite them returning to first-team training. The bench has some decent options with Almiron and Carroll, who can come in late if needed.

Yedlin has hardly played – it has to be Manquillo at RWB

There is no way he’d start both Longstaffs

I wouldn’t mind seeing Matty play, although I wouldn’t put much faith in a reserve youngster who doesn’t even make the bench most weeks.

Any change up good or bad is something to look forward to because anything other than a loss is unrealistic for us against most clubs.

I say Mike Ashley is a thief. He has stolen the identity and sporting ambition from NUFC.

How come as a fan that Steve Bruce had never seen Atsu play, was he not watching that evening when he curled in that lovely free kick against Cardiff?

22, sadly matey, if you make an accusation, you have to prove he is a thief, he doesn’t have to prove anything.
For one, you can’t prove a negative. It’s like any court case, the CPS bring the accusation so it’s for them to prove the accused is guilty. The accused can refuse to give evidence and just sit back and let the accuser prove their guilt.
You’d need cast iron evidence to formulate a case. Whereas I agree there’s money missing – the net spend confirms this – but proving it might be impossible to prove. Fraud cases are renowned for their complexity to the extent that there was talk of trying to take away the jury in difficult cases.
Nice thought, but it would cost you a small fortune and you’d lose without evidence that doesn’t seem available. You’d need to hire forensic experts to pore over the accounts etc.
The only possible option would be finding a barrister and forensic experts willing to work pro bono. Anybody know anybody?

i’m not stating this as fact just a theory as to why the prospective bidders all felt the need to incorporate a company Staveley Kenyon and Those Arabs all very reputable business people in there own right ,
could it possibly be that Ashley was playing with them just leading them on into think they had a deal that was very close so close in fact they felt the need to be ready when Ashley finally signed off on it, then wham he moves the goalpost, and the deals off,
just a theory but it does make sense and would explain a lot of the problems that keep cropping up with any deal regarding the club and its sale,
the one recurring problem is Ashley.

Wow, putting myself through watching his full presser, I hope any of our defenders don’t watch it, he’s basically put the blame on them for not being able to play in a back four, about four and a half minutes in on nufc.co.uk

I think starting the brothers together would result in a disaster. Manure’s midfield would destroy them. Sean’s been awful this season and Leicester was his worst game yet. Throwing his brother in there with him, with no real PL experience could destroy their confidence completely. Maybe the talk of going to Old Trafford has completely unsettled him.

I’d go with the two Longstaffs as well. Lots of energy and they won’t have to learn each other’s game.

Stick Andy up front with Almiron near him.

Right back, Yedlin. Their young forward there is super fast.

Knowing something and proving it are two completely different things. The net spend tells us something is missing, but that wouldn’t cut it in court

I see safe standing is back on the menu. That could greatly increase our ground capacity on its own. The way they set up ‘rail seating’ means you can put three standing for two sitting. It would improve the atmosphere as well. The sooner the better for me. ( Not me personally, I can’t stand up all game, but for the good of football).

The issue is who are we playing in midfield ? Ki really needs to step his game up although I think hes a player that needs a run of games to get going hes good in possession but not so good in the tackle

The Man Utd team do work hard but they are lacking real quality

I suppose playing the 2 Longstaffs together would guarantee some energy in the middle which is what is needed in the formation we play!

Can see Brucey bonus rushing Shelvey back again though

Whenever performance levels dropped under Rafa we generally tended to get beat and usually pretty easily and this was players playing to proper tactics!

Now we have Bruce slagging off players and playing formations that don’t really get the best out of the players what were they expecting to happen this season? We don’t have those players that can win games on their own
