It’s no real surprise who has won our player of the month for September. With 65% of the vote, Fabian Schar has been selected by our readers as the best player last month. While it was definitely a month to forget, Fabian did standout as the top performer.
It was a month that brought two defeats and a very discouraging draw at home. If it weren’t for Schar’s goal-line save against Brighton, it would have been three losses.
Fabian collected 383 of the 590 votes, and the other contenders were nowhere near. Christian Atsu came in second with 13%, and local lad Paul Dummett was third with 12%.
Schar also won the August poll, but that one was a far tighter race as he edged out Isaac Hayden by just two points.
It’s a new month for Newcastle, and we start it at home against Manchester United. We expect to see Fabian still putting in the performances. However, will there be another player who can come through?
There’ll be some players who haven’t featured much likely to get some games this month. Allan Saint-Maximin, DeAndre Yedlin, and maybe even Floria Lejeune can hopefully put in some performances to help turn this season around.
