Report Gives Latest Update On Injured Star

Matt Ritchie watched the Manchester United victory from the press box on Sunday. The Sun’s David Coverdale gave the following characterization of Ritchie during the match.

Matt has been out since suffering an ankle injury on August 28th against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup. The injury was initially said to be a two-month injury as there was damage to the ligaments.

Matt Ritchie– after Hamza Choudhury tackle

A couple of weeks later in the lead up to the Liverpool match, Steve Bruce gave the following update on Ritchie:

“Matt Ritchie has been quite remarkable in his recovery. He has shocked us all. But the way he trained yesterday and the day before, as long as he doesn’t have any reaction, he is not far away.

But it all went quiet on the Ritchie recovery front after that. This past week he was the only player not to partake in team training.

The Chronicle have issued an injury update on Matt Ritchie that, while not devastating, is a little disappointing.

The report states that Ritchie has undergone a minor procedure to clean up the area around his ankle. Due to this, Matt’s return could be delayed a little longer than originally hoped.

This is what is written in the Chronicle about the operation:

But after further assessments it was decided to clear up the area around his ankle with the operation, meaning a potential later return to the field.

It does not appear that there is any major set-back, but Ritchie’s availability for the Chelsea is now very much in doubt.

Thanks to @NUFC for quoting my comments about how “billionaire owners like Mike Ashley” are “ruining our national game”.

Pressure is building and it is thanks to the magpie groups actions.
No you dont have to vote labour to be a toon supporter.
This is about getting the message out there and youve got to admit the magpie group makes news.

Eeh, well I never. So Ellen Wilkinson was a socialist was she? Could she be the Ellen Wilkinson that led the Jarrow March? I suppose the name of the estate might give a clue as to why other streets were named after Kier Hardy, Laski and other radicals.

Jack Ross sacked. If Sam Allardyce had any scruples he’d offer to go back there on some kind of financial deal that worked for both parties, he’s not short of a few quid either, he’s pretty much universally loathed in football except for there so could go out on a high by being a mackem hero and maybe get a big fat statue. But he hasn’t so they’re stuck in league one for the foreseeable 🙄 😀

Just looking at the statement Ashley’s put out in response to Corbyn’s criticism, it’s one they’ve cobbled out in a hurry and not checked it before its issue.

Note the tense in this extract… ‘…In this financial year, the club will use an overdraft facility to manage its cashflow following a significant spend on talent in the summer…’. It’s what was said before the last window!

And he makes great play about short-term interest free loans but doesn’t mention the £140m or so debt he saddled the club with, nor the years of free advertising for SD…….

Like him.or not, Corbyn’s exposed Ashley

U21s lost 3-0 to Shrewsbury tonight, having hit the woodwork twice.

They’re missing some big players from last season but it sounds like the performance was pretty decent against a senior team.

AC Milan have sacked manager Marco Giampaolo after only three and a half months in charge because of a poor start to the season.

One for the Mackems to consider.
    Dream on
