Who Did Our Readers Select As Man Of The Match Against Manchester United?

In a rebound performance from the lads, there were quite a few players who put in improved performances on Sunday. However, the top two vote getters as Man of the Match, did not feature at Leicester City.

The winner of the poll should come as no surprise. Matty Longstaff easily snapped up the most votes after his remarkable Premier League debut. Allan Saint-Maximin came in a distant second place in just his second start of the campaign.

Of the 2,257 votes, young Matty gathered 1,328 of them for 59%. Allan Saint-Maximin with 17% edged out Fabian Schar who had 14% of the total votes.

All three players were tremendous against Manchester United. However, Sunday was all about Matty Longstaff and his magnificent goal. Finally, the Newcastle supporters had something to get excited about. Long may it continue.

Actually Schar had a crackin’ game again and in my eyes is favourite for player of the season (so far). So out of curiosity I wondered if anyone had nominated him in our predictions and only 1 person has so take a bow………………….. Jail for Ashley

How very sad that voters have been completely swayed by Matty’s brilliant goal, and his shot that ratlled off the bar.

Personally I would have gone with St Maximin – more energy than Matty and Almiron combined and caused more problems for ManUre’s back line than the rest of our team put together.

But there again – I’m not an exciteable little child.

    Yeah I voted Schar
But on my merit marks after the game I put Matty and Fabian joint Man of the Match
Matties overall display and the goal on his debut
and Schar for his headed clearence over the bar first half, and hooked clearance from the onrushing Rashford second half.

    From previous.. .

Rather than GT having ‘missed’ the Belgian tax claim, it’s more accurate to say that GT wasn’t made aware of it until they’d completed their audit of SD’s accounts.

Ashley’s minions must’ve forgotten to mention the claim – an oversight anyone could’ve made. Innit!

Schar for player of the season… and then he’ll be sold to a club whose ambition matches his own.
