Comment #1Is someone suggesting that the shallowness of the metro station under Strawberry Place will some how effect the potential view from the back of the stadia?!!

First it’s stadium not stadia – there’s only one SJP in the Toon
Second the siting of the tunnel and station prohibits any sinking of extra foundations which would
be required in the event of extending the Gallowgate end either outward or upward

Fully agree re. S_O_R_E_N_S_E_N, he’ll get more playing time and better experience with the U23s than he seems to be getting at Carlisle. Bring him back Mr Loans Co-ordinator, now!

Comment #8It is obvious that Ashlie is getting a financial recompense of some sort from all of his companies, he’d be a total idiot if he wasn’t.
But to say that cos he owns 51% of KBA that he gets paid 50% of their earnings is a bit naive. Surely it would have to be 50% of their profits after wages and admin costs, which will be nowhere near £3m.
Not defending him but there are better examples of his mismanagement of the club.

Comment #12Jib, as I said he’s a proven scorer at that level – 3 games, three goals in the first three months of last season against League One and League Two clubs.
Carlisle are lucky to have him and if they’re not prepared to play him we should send him elsewhere.

i didn’t respond simply because i thought you were mistaken and didn’t wish to have a drawn out conversation on what i perceived to be a misunderstanding.
but, since you called me out personally as being wrong – i feel compelled to reply.
an excerpt from the company accounts below :-
“The principal activity of the company is that of a of a property holding company. On 31 July 2003 the company acquired a leasehold property interest from Newcastle United Football Company Limited.
With effect from 8 January 2004 the company was acquired by MGM Grand Newcastle (Holdings) Limited, a joint venture between Newcastle United PLC and MGM MIRAGE Development Limited.
On 22 January 2004 the company changed its name from Newcastle United Holdings Limited to MGM Grand Newcastle Limited.”

i have been courteous enough to provide the source of why i made that comment, perhaps you would be courteous enough to do the same.

Comment #17Hibbit You are correct in that accounts can by manipulated to a certain extent to show a different picture. If you had read any of my points you will have seen that I often try and compare the accounts with other clubs as that may give insight into any underhand tactics employed by Ashley to hide funds etc.
When I have looked I can’t see anything so that coupled with looking at the accounts gives me a better overview than the likes of yourself who just want to believe Ashley is the person who responsible for everything and anything.

Comment #20Almiron receiving a second yellow for diving is worrying. I have noticed him going to ground very easily this season and he’s only been pulled up on it a few times with yellow cards brandished.
Still think he has all the assets to become a top player but he has so much to work on.

For what it’s worth, a company’s published accounts present nothing more than a summary, an overview of the state of a business. The only way to find particular transactions and/ or relationships between companies, whether related or not, is to undertake detailed analyzed – a forensic examination. That, I believe, is what Hibbit said or did he not?
As a few folk have said, as owner of Newcastle United and its related companies, Ashley is free to do what the hell he wants with them but, and this is the point that’s getting up everyone’s nose is that what he’s done, the deals he’s set up with SD, KBA, etc have made with one purpose and one purpose only – to take as much out of NUFC and pay it to those businesses in which he has an interest. By doing so, he’s shown that he has no interest in growing NUFC and is content to use it only as a vehicle for publicising SD and its subsidiaries at as little cost as possible.
Legal yes but a misuse use of NUFC, a long-established club to which many are wedded and for which he cares not one jot.
How you can defend such behaviour is beyond belief unless like Jib and other names who act as Ashley apologists or cheerleaders, you are a narcissist.
