Newcastle Linked To In Form Championship Left-Back

Newcastle are said to be tracking QPR’s Ryan Manning in an exclusive report from Football Insider.

The 23-year-old was converted into a left-back late last season and has excelled in his new position. He had been primarily used in central midfield or as a left winger.

Manning is a former U-21 Republic of Ireland international who joined QPR from Galway United in 2015. He is still on the original deal he signed which is due to expire next summer. Although QPR do have a clause to extend it for another year.

Ryan Manning– Newcastle tracking the versatile youngster

Manning has played every minute in his 13 appearances for QPR this season with 1 goal and 2 assists. It is reported that a fee around £2-3m would be enough to tempt QPR to sell.

Southampton is also said to be very interested in a January move for Manning.

We are not sure what to make of the link to this player. He has definitely found superb form since moving to left-back where his strong crossing ability is best put to use.

With him being such a versatile player who would not command a large fee, he could prove to be a useful addition to the squad. If Newcastle opt against giving Matt Ritchie an extension, Manning would be a decent replacement.

Ritchie’s contract expires in 2021. If he and the club can not reach common ground on an extension, Newcastle could look to cash in on the 30-year-old in the summer.

We also expect Newcastle to exercise the £6m option to make Jetro Willems’s move from Frankfurt a permanent one. Willems is a bargain for that reported fee.

    JIB

Why do you bother with alts like Just a Fan, Posada and the like ?

You use them to help you defend Jabba, do will do and say anything to achieve your goal

    Its never Jabbas fault

As for the kid above, looks good

But as ever we are scraping about looking for bargains while our generous owner continues to not take a penny from the club

    toon22,
You obviously know what you’re doing, why not post the address and a draft letter for us to object to the planning, if it’s put on twitter and retweeted it might get a few thousand objections.

The problem with that is it then isnt ordinary people and their own worded objections
That and the fact the land is no longer in the ownership of our club, it was sold from under us
Probably the reason JIB didnt take the bait

Its far easier to simply contact Newcastle Council and object to the planning permission of Reference 19/00424/SCR

EGB, if you think the Tory party would take up Corbyn’s stance on Mike Ashley, then you really don’t know much about the conservatives—somebody like Ashley is more likely to get a pat on the back

If you asked Corbyn 30 years ago what he thought about characters like Mike Ashley, his position would be exactly the same. It’s not a “ploy” and Corbyn’s voting record and positions over his career has proved it.

If Corbyn got in power we would have many things a lot more concerning to worry about than his stance on the running of football clubs! Having said that let’s get politics out of it 🙂

Of course it was electioneering by Corbyn. Without inviting debate, there’s as much chance of a Telegraph reader’s party of choice turning down an application from one of its champions of greed as there is of Ashley demonstrating ambition for NUFC.

“If Mike Ashley was to fire the head coach now it would be a vote of no confidence in the club’s own decision-making process.”

Yeah, they wouldn’t want to let the cat out of the bag.

I would like to make an objection but I’m not on Twitter.

Can you post the details on here?

I live in NE25 (Whitley Bay) can I object or is it only for Newcastle residents?

    Cheers.

Ashley’s decision making might be questioned over Bruce’s appointment? And before him, the appointments of Kinnear, Carver, McLaren and the biggest, getting rid of Rafa.

Unless, unless he tries to say that his trusted toadie, Charmless made the choices and Ashley backed him? Ah, but then he’d be questioned about retaining Charmless given his poor selections. He won’t sack Charmless so it’s no changes on the horizon.

Now don’t forget to mention the debt the nasty party inherited. I heard it referred to on last night’s (radio 4) question time for the first time. The audience really groaned! That debt is the political equivalent of hearing the first cuckoo.

Anyone, anywhere can object to planning applications. I know from personal experience. Go ahead and keep it to the point without emotions. Aesthetics, traffic, light reduction, environmental impact, contraventions of City policy (check another Nufc related blog for sight of part of an already submitted letter).

according to some on here the lands was deemed unsuitable for a stadium extension by nexus, but is now its perfectly acceptable to build two multi story office/apartment/retail buildings on it !!

I you look at the The footprints of the buildings (in white)

You can see they carefully avoid the metro station and the line of the tunnel
If you look across the road you can see a stadium extension couldn’t do this.

I don’t agree with the development and thought Nexus could assist but the
developers have been very astute with their plans.
