25-Year-Old Fires Warning Shot For Stamford Bridge

Newcastle still have a couple of players regaining full fitness in Matt Ritchie and Florian Lejeune. Allan Saint-Maximin is also doing some individual work with the Newcastle training staff.

In that regard, the two-week international could prove beneficial in giving these players that extra time to concentrate on fitness.

However, the two-week break runs the risk of squandering the high from the Manchester United win. Matty Longstaff’s goal provided the club and its fans such a lift, it’s disappointing that the team didn’t have the opportunity of bringing that momentum straight into the next game.

Jamaal Lascelles– confident of a result at Stamford Bridge

This may not be an issue if Jamaal Lascelles has his finger accurately placed on the pulse of this team. The captain reckons that the lads are still buzzing after the Manchester United win.

Speaking to nufc.co.uk, Jamaal fired the following warning shot to Chelsea:

“They’re a young side with not much experience in there. We’ve been working really hard this week and we’re looking forward to it. It’s going to be a tough game but we do fancy our chances.

“We’re still going off the last game. We beat Man United at home and there’s no reason why we can’t beat Chelsea. We’ve still got the confidence from the last game and hopefully we can go and do the same job.”

There’s a bit of bravado in these words from our captain. That tells us that he feels the team still haven’t come down from the high of the Manchester United win.

While it is two weeks between matches, Newcastle didn’t have many players away during the break. They will have been able to put in some work together without too much of a disruption.

Of course, young Matty Longstaff was with them the past two weeks as well. Maybe he’s been banging in the goals during training and that’s why Jamaal is so confident. We wouldn’t doubt it.

How Will Newcastle Do At Chelsea On Saturday?

  • Lose (46%, 583 )
  • Draw (28%, 354 )
  • Win (25%, 318 )

Chelsea have been officially revealed as the Premier League side with the worst disciplinary record, with no club receiving more cards in the top flight since 1992.

It would be good if we could get one of them sent off.

It’s not a given that a club captain is a great player
Other factors have to be considered
Jordan Henderson is nowhere near LPool’s best player
but look what they have achieved under his captaincy

Just catching up and can’t believe a few people are suggesting that it would be a good thing if the mackems made it back to the Prem. (or the Champo if that’s where we end up)

Geordietom has it right when he says that if the shoe was on the other foot they wouldn’t want us back.

Unfortunately I have to walk amongst them occasionally and I can tell you that they REALLY hate us.
On the whole,we as Mags are way more tolerant of them than they are of us.
We would never hear the last of it if our roles were reversed.

    Let them burn!

Would like to see us come out with a proper game plan to win this come on Brucey this is your chance to shine!

He has had 2 weeks to work with basically his full team as not many where away in internationals should have been working on pressing Chelsea and trying to score against them with set pieces as they are terrible at defending them!

Kante is going to be missing for them now as well which is massive !

    Tom,

It’s a strange thing to witness with a lot of mackems that they can turn from ordinary, normal, rational people into rabid maniacs at the mention of Newcastle.

They really do have a massive problem with us.

I for one am enjoying their plight.

Having seen Linty Joe play a few matches for us now does anyone have a feel for how many he will score this season? I’m still mulling it over. Possibly he will be like Perez and begin to really fill the net in the second half. If so might he get a dozen? I’m not sure yet. We definitely need goals from him though (and some assists please).

And if Linty Joe doesn’t increase his production by Christmas quite a bit will another striker be purchased in the January window? I would think that would be crucial for wor survival…

Since we have the very best development squad in the NorthEast I assume we won’t have to look far for another brilliant striker. Just go down to the training ground and pick one oot. Very cost effective….

In my continuing series of deep thinkings I will now consider wor fullback situation. Dummett, Jethro, Krafty, Mandingo, Yedders. How deep with quality are we? I’m seeing a reasonable bunch of FB’s but nothing really special. Let’s get on that Chutney….

I think Jethro has the ability to be the best of that five. He just needs to be brought along properly which isn’t likely under Mr. Brucie. New manager please….

Wonder if it’d be worthwhile sending Mr Charnley to those closed down NE pits and sending him down to see if there’s another top player still waiting down there for a shout from the pit head like in the old day’s.

Got to worth a shout Mr Ashlie!!

G2 all players are a work in progress we’ve had a few that aren’t fit to polish S-O-R-E-N-S-E-N-S boots who’ve had runs in the team, he’s got to be worth a chance.
