25-Year-Old Fires Warning Shot For Stamford Bridge

Newcastle still have a couple of players regaining full fitness in Matt Ritchie and Florian Lejeune. Allan Saint-Maximin is also doing some individual work with the Newcastle training staff.

In that regard, the two-week international could prove beneficial in giving these players that extra time to concentrate on fitness.

However, the two-week break runs the risk of squandering the high from the Manchester United win. Matty Longstaff’s goal provided the club and its fans such a lift, it’s disappointing that the team didn’t have the opportunity of bringing that momentum straight into the next game.

Jamaal Lascelles– confident of a result at Stamford Bridge

This may not be an issue if Jamaal Lascelles has his finger accurately placed on the pulse of this team. The captain reckons that the lads are still buzzing after the Manchester United win.

Speaking to nufc.co.uk, Jamaal fired the following warning shot to Chelsea:

“They’re a young side with not much experience in there. We’ve been working really hard this week and we’re looking forward to it. It’s going to be a tough game but we do fancy our chances.

“We’re still going off the last game. We beat Man United at home and there’s no reason why we can’t beat Chelsea. We’ve still got the confidence from the last game and hopefully we can go and do the same job.”

There’s a bit of bravado in these words from our captain. That tells us that he feels the team still haven’t come down from the high of the Manchester United win.

While it is two weeks between matches, Newcastle didn’t have many players away during the break. They will have been able to put in some work together without too much of a disruption.

Of course, young Matty Longstaff was with them the past two weeks as well. Maybe he’s been banging in the goals during training and that’s why Jamaal is so confident. We wouldn’t doubt it.

How Will Newcastle Do At Chelsea On Saturday?

  • Lose (46%, 583 )
  • Draw (28%, 354 )
  • Win (25%, 318 )

It’s a very good point Essex. Very pointy indeed. I don’t see why he couldn’t get a look-see before the season ends. A few minutes here, half an hour there. It’s got to happen sooner or later anyway…..

Mind you at the moment he is a joint top scorer, I’d be very embarrassed if it stayed like that.

My next question is will we sell off Mandingo now that we have Krafty and Yedders for RB? Or would we go with Mandingo and Krafty and sell off Yedders?

Well said Essex. I suspect that may be the option the club will choose. I don’t see Yedders improving now so a little cash in hand will please Chutney and Mikey…..

For me the midfield is in a state of flux. Ki is fading. Possibly Shelvey will also not impress. That leaves various options at AM and DM. I still like Hayden at DM when he’s available, and Miggy out wide, with possibly both Longstaffs in there if possible. Then there’s Ritchie and Atsu sharing a position possibly. It’s not terrible at all. We have some depth there but again a true No. 10. Do we have one?

Well examining my cannabis coffee tea leave’s I predict that Gayle won’t get another game for us and will be oft after Yule or Xmas for the non pagans.

And AC will be starting games very soon and scoring buckets of quality headers.

I saw you 2 talking about your predictions for TGS so thought I’d check:
    G2 – Joelinton 14
    EGB – Mutu 14

It’s gonna have to be a hell of a second half of the season 😉
