Pundit Gives Verdict On Newcastle At Chelsea

BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has given his weekly predictions for the Premier League fixtures this weekend. Mark has Chelsea defeating Newcastle 2-0 at Stamford Bridge. Here is his prediction in full.

Newcastle’s win over Manchester United was such a good day for Magpies manager Steve Bruce, the Longstaff brothers, the fans – everyone at the club.

It is going to be hard for them to build on that victory against Chelsea, though. The Blues have won their past four games, and it looks like they have turned the corner.

For some reason, we are quite confident that Newcastle will do well against Chelsea on Saturday. While Chelsea have won their last four matches in all competitions, they are coming off of an international break in which two players, Andreas Christensen and N’Golo Kante, have suffered injuries.

Chelsea also had 11 regulars playing for their respective countries during the break, while Newcastle only had a handful. Due to that, we are hoping the lads will be well prepared to face Chelsea.

Newcastle may also be able to channel the momentum from the ‘good day,’ as Lawrenson puts it, and carry that into the weekend. Jamaal Lascelles certainly seems to think the lads are still confident after the Manchester United performance. He said earlier that he fancies Newcastle’s chances.

We also think Newcastle stand a good chance to get a result on Saturday. It’ll be a tough one, no doubt, but Newcastle tend to be up for these types of fixtures.

How Will Newcastle Do At Chelsea On Saturday?

  • Lose (46%, 583 )
  • Draw (28%, 354 )
  • Win (25%, 318 )

    From the BBC
Massive blaze rages at fuel depot
The man in charge of investigating the massive fires at a Hertfordshire oil depot on Sunday says if it wasn’t for the arrest of geordietom the flames may have destroyed all clues to the cause.
The fire chief described the incident at the Buncefield fuel depot near Hemel Hempstead, after 0600 GMT, as possibly the largest in peacetime Europe.
A police investigation into the incident has begun, including investigations by anti-terrorist police.
But Chief Con Whiteley said, in the events leading up to the disaster it has been found that when local man geordietom, who was renowned for his unbelievably bad craic and shite patter was hired as a night shift security guard at the depot, regular staff either quit or went on the sick leaving the plant woefully undermanned. On the night of the disaster, the only remaining permanent staff member had a nervous breakdown by the time geordietom had done his second walk around of the plant that night leaving nobody in charge of vital controls. As the fire raged geordietom continued to hamper firefighters with his shite patter, it wasn’t until the firefighters trained their hoses on geordietom that the situation was put back under control. geordietom was due to be detained for three days under the terrorism act but under the circumstances local police could only hold him for a matter of seconds before charging him with GBP.

Ha ha. I’ve only once worn a the toon strip at the FA cup against Man United. Went for a drink later and got asked to leave. Mortified lots of men asked to buy our drinks or loan their jackets. But I was too shocked. Especially when the bar man said not with them shirts on girls!!!! I told him I’m a lady not a girl. It was my daughter’s strip. I only wore it as the friend I took begged me. I always go to the match dressed smart.

Hoping for a win on Saturday, that would definitely lift the spirits of everyone. Honestly this season for me has been so depressing. I can’t see me renewing my season ticket next year. It’s such a lot of money. And the football has been terrible at home. And I missed the Man U game.

Worse part was my friend insisted on wearing a black and white curly wig, she also wore her husband’s trainers as she didn’t have any. I hate to say she looked like a clown with big feet and curly wig.

We usually play well against Chelsea. I’ve seen some great games against them. I remember Petre Check saying the roar when we scored the winning goal I think it as Remy, was the loudest he had ever heard.
