Similarly to the Manchester United game, a video compilation of Allan Saint-Maximin’s performance against Chelsea has been created.

It shows the tremendous work that the 22-year-old Frenchman put in at Stamford Bridge yesterday. He created a few decent chances for Joelinton and scared the blazes out of Chelsea at times with his dribbling ability.
The end product still needs a bit of fine-tuning, but you can’t fault the effort from the exciting winger. The hope is that Allan, Joelinton, and Miguel Almiron can grow together as the season progresses.
Newcastle played well in the first half but didn’t pose much of a threat in the second to get anything out of the game. However, over the past two games, Saint-Maximin has definitely been a force for Newcastle. He certainly keeps your attention whenever he has the ball at his feet.
Allan tweeted this phrase after the game yesterday. He is a very positive young man.
You don't lose if you get knocked down, you lose if you stay down ? #WorkHard #NextGame

Comment #1Right on cue, tell me what on Earth Joelinton is doing at 52 seconds cutting back inside?
He plays like a player who thinks he’s better technically than he is.

Comment #2Again at 1:31 I recall he took a Shola touch and it ended up going for a goalkick to them.

Comment #3It’s rather foolish to nag on about a 23 year old player
who has had 8 PL games.

Comment #4I love Saint-Maximin! My favourite player and I am glad that my excitement when we signed him was not in vain. He is proving to be a great signing. If we could sign Josef Martinez and offload Gayle in January plus get Jarrod Bowen in then we will be much more of a threat and stave off relegation. Then in the summer sign Willems permanently and offload Shelvey and improve our midfield with some steel and creativity.

Yep
Rafa would have been slaughtered for buying Joe at 40 million
The very same posters seem to give the traitor as pass on him
In reality it was Jabba who bought him but he seems to avoid blame too

Comment #6All this talk in the press about us being linked to prolific goal scorer, does it really matter.
We can be linked to every forward everywhere but it means Steve playing two up front all the time, which then means we play four in midfield, best situation would be Long boys plus Max and Miggy.
For that to work Steve would have to really get the team understanding how to defend the attack to attack, sorry Steve but I feel you don’t have it in you to work this system and Newcastle really needs a younger manager with more up to date and technical ability to make Newcastle into a team that can, instead of a Newcastle that could possibly.

Comment #7I don’t think it’s wise to compare and try and defend bruce’s record and GD against rafa over 400 games. I think rafa has an incredible +GD where bruce is – 139 and counting. Not really a case to make

Comment #8i think what it s wit joe linton , he hasn’t realised he doesn’t get as much time on the ball as his did in germany . defenders in the EPL are at you quicker . so he will be ok have a shot dont take that extra touch soot on sight surprise the keeper . he’s not gonna be prolific ( as much as we would like him to be ) . the EPL is quicker football than football on the continent , as they say in derby he’ll be reet …

Comment #13Fact of the matter Jib is that we don’t have to time for anyone to come good regardless of age, we haven’t got that type of set up since we pretty much battle relegation every season.

Comment #1423 years old is not 18 and to date he’s been woeful. At a – reported – £40m we should be seeing fireworks. Huge disappointment. Rotten decision making buying him with that huge price tag when Rafa wasn’t keen.

Comment #15Next 4 matches:
Wolves
West Ham
B’mouth
Aston Villa
All 4 are winnable. If we don’t take 8 or 9 pts. SB needs to go….He needs to go now but poor results in the next 4 and it should be a given.

Comment #16Don’t get me wrong, he was nowhere near the level, but there is a compelling argument that can be made that Joselu was more impactful after first signing than Joelinton has been thus far.
That’s a damning indictment. With Joselu ultimately we got what we paid for. Not so Joe. Yet.

Agreed. Joselu was getting stick after 1 game and cost 5 mil. At 40 mil you should have an impact immediately.

Based on the competition. As stated if can’t get 8 or 9 pts. SB should be pushed out the door.

Comment #22It’s a championship squad simple as that, there’s no goalscorers in the side and relegation is guaranteed. It doesn’t matter what happens in January, too little too late. The parasite gambled on nobody’s and now it’s championship football to look forward to.Grow a pair and boycott Sports Direct FC,it’s a shambles!

Comment #25A few observations from yesterday: (1) Willian repeatedly was allowed to move unchallenged diagonally from as far back as Chelsea backline deep into ours; a complete failure of our midfield, (2) we failed to string more than 2-3 passes, (3) parking the bus in the second half hoping for a point and conceding in the process, (4) wasting 20 minutes toward the end in playing football. What is extremely disturbing is that our entire team and its management appears to have relapsed back into a the habit being clueless at the first sight of trouble and crumble away.
