Watch Newcastle Target’s Unreal Finish During Training Drill

Ligue 1 club Lille have posted the following clip of Victor Osimhen’s finish during a training drill on their Twitter account.

The club gives the 21-year-old a ten on all marks for originality, efficiency, coordination, mastery, and precision. We tend to agree with Lille as that was some artistry from Osimhen. While it was just a drill with no defenders, he looks quite an athletic talent.

Newcastle were reported to have an interest in the prolific finisher earlier this week. He has already scored 8 goals in his 13 appearances for Lille this season.

While it will take some doing to pry the Nigerian international from Lille, he looks to be a budding star of the future.

AC injured again! What a waste of money. We could’ve had Rondon! Ashley is unbelievably thick!

I’m quite surprised the club have given a 6 year contract to a 30 year old given their stance on signing players over 26. However as Jib @7 shows keepers are not like outfield players and reach their prime a lot later in life.
Mind what must Woodman be thinking now?

He’s seen what they’ve given to Joelinton and said either give me a six or I’m running this one down, Mikey will be seething, he’s gone in the summer.

i think the biggest problem we’ve had is Bruce not knowing what he’s got. Every player at the club, coach, local journalist, as well as thousands of fans and plenty on here among them knew more than he did about our strengths and weaknesses and many still probably do.

He really should have just been playing 343 from the start, with either one of Hayden and Longstaff partnered with either one of Shelvey and KiSy in central mid, or Hayden alongside Longstaff against the senior sides.

We are now playing the two Longstaffs with Shelvey and KiSy basically on the outer as a result of Bruce faffing around trying to get his feet under the table.

This is a decent starting 11against a senior side, or variations of…..
    …………………..Dubravka.
    ……..Scharr…..Fernandez……Lejeune.
    Manquillo…..Hayden..Longstaff……Ritchie.
    …..Almiron………..Carrol…….St Max.

Shelvey, Joelinton, Lascelles, Willems, Yedlin, Dummett, Atsu, Clarke, Krafth
and even Gayle and Muto can all slot into that formation without too much disruption.

Er, ok maybe not the biggest problem, but certainly something that has hindered us.

    1. GK’s last longer (even if one considers a high octane GK like Neuer). 1-2 years down the road, when a replacement is ready we could cash in on Dubravka. That is if we were prudent. Under our current ownership though, I’d guess Dubravka is gone by summer especially if we are relegated with the 6-year deal only increasing his valuation. Woodman with a full year’s Championship experience could then just come in and take over, unless a few of his amazing performances (yet to see those, though) gets an EPL team interested.
    2. Can’t believe Nicky’s trusts AC so much given that AC is unlikely to be available for only 10 games, give or take.

I don’t necessarily trust in Andy Carroll’s fitness as much as I’d simply play him or Joelinton up top in a 343. The point I’m making is that Bruce was parachuted in with little idea of what we had in terms of players or how we played last term and it has showed.
