Jarrod Bowen Just Proclaimed Himself The Answer To Newcastle’s Goal Problem

Newcastle transfer target Jarrod Bowen started as a striker this afternoon as Hull City welcomed Derby to the KCOM this afternoon.

We guess Jarrod doesn’t mind playing upfront as he bagged a second-half brace to give Hull City all three points. It was Bowen’s 4th goal in his last three games, bringing his season total to 9.

This was Bowen’s first start as a striker for Hull City, and he did not disappoint. It was also a timely act by the 22-year-old.

Earlier this week, his finishing ability was compared to Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy. Vardy, like former Magpie Ayoze Perez, had a hat-trick in Leicester City’s 9-0 win over Southampton.

Left-back Callum Elder, who joined Hull City from Leicester this summer, made the following comparison of Bowen to Jamie Vardy:

“I’ve said it to a lot of lads, a lot of staff, especially coming from Leicester – he is one of the most clinical players I’ve ever played with.

“He doesn’t have many shots but he finds the back of the net time and time again. He’s a joy to play with, he’s so positive. He always wants to beat his man, he always wants to influence the game and I’m really enjoying being one of his team-mates.

“Jamie Vardy is obviously in that category of clinical but Bowen is up there, 100 per cent. Look at Jarrod’s goal on Saturday against the run of play, touch and finish. On Wednesday, another goal with his weaker foot. He is a really impressive player.”

Elder, while never making a first-team appearance for the Foxes, is a product of their youth academy.

Jarrod Bowen has continued to impress in his third season of dominating the Championship. He is clearly a class above this level of football. We really hope that Newcastle are in the hunt for this outstanding player.

Remember how many of us criticised Perez? Headless chicken? Even booed him?

Almiron is a similar case. Stand by him.

I was always one to slate perez but he’s been great for Leicester this season maturing into a good player in a decent team

When the club put out that bullshit story that they were going after Rodgers to try and discredit Rafa, the amount of mugs on here that jumped on the bandwaggon to say how much they’d want him. Every single one of them completely missing the point that Rodgers wouldn’t be coming for exactly the same reason Rafa wouldn’t be staying, the same daft €%#$ that thought Bruce would deliver attacking football.

Bruce is demanding more respect in an interview on Sky from Toon fans well how about your EARN IT!?!!?

Tomorrow set us up properly with a formation and tactics that will get us the win! Get us creating chances from moves that we have been working on in training all week and for goodness sake stop making a pigs ear of substitutes!! When you take a guy off don’t shuffle the whole team at the same time as every time we do it we concede!

Is this Bowen any good? When I seen him (briefly) I thought he was another Tom cairney in that he’s too good in the championship but won’t have the stand out attributes to shine in the prem. As I say not seen much of him but he didn’t look that fast from what I could see??

    @Nufc83

Seen him a few times hes just a natural goal scorer with that bit of pace that will get you ahead of the defender for goals of course he could turn into another Tom Cairney/Dwight Gayle while at the same time could be another Vardy or Maddison who is a success in the big league!

We probably don’t have to worry about him signing for us to be honest as Hull are going to activate that years clause so there’s no way we will pay that probably end up at Leicester to keep them in the hunt for the champions league places as Vardy backup…..

Jib and the concept of understanding football are distant cousins who never speak. Jib is in his 50’s or 60’s and gets off on hacking people’s accounts and creating alts. Sad, sad man with multiple issues.

I listened to Robbie Earle talking last night
He was saying that it’s well known in footy circles
that Soton are way out of their depth and have survived
    against all expectations for ages.
Appointing an Austrian manager who managed Bayern’s second
    team was the final nail

Always said he was and still is the perfect Perez replacement.

Better record in the Champ than what Perez achieved at roughly the same age as when he played a season in it, in a much better team too.

Bowen.s style of play and strengths are exactly the same.

I cant see us spending anything in January unless we are 8-10 points adrift of 4th bottom.

I do think we are just a bit better than Watford and Southampton …..but it’s still early days for all clubs and some can greatly improve.

I just dont see where our goals will come from this season. Much like most on here.

The crazy thing is , although we beat NZ
quite comfortably both Wales and SA would
rather meet us in the final than the All Blacks

    @Jib

Southampton do seem to be making the same mistakes every season with daft managerial appointments and then selling their best players and replacing them with players not ready to go into the first team!

A bit like us getting rid of all of our goal threat to be replaced by rookie players who may or may not do the business seems an unecessary risk wouldn’t you agree?

The annoying thing for Soton fans is they
have a state of the art footy academy and
a brilliant scouting network but their production
    line feeds other clubs.
    Sadio Mané
    Gareth Bale
    Theo Walcott
    Adam Lallana
    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
    Victor Wanyama
    Luke Shaw
    Virgil Van Dijk
    Toby Alderwield
    Nathaniel Clyne

    to name but a few

Amazing list of players, PL winning level.
And today, 9-0 loss! A team that would thump us 4-0 for fun, a model team that we envied. Their ownership structure, their scouting. They did well, got lucky, threw it all away.
You have to feel for them.
Hope they can make it out of the championship soon.

We need to do well against the teams around us to stay up: Lost one, drew two. Both draws at home so we aren’t doing so well.

I predict that if things stay the same we will be relegated. We don’t have a goal scorer in the team, and that puts extra pressure on the defence as they know we cannot afford to concede any goals.

I’m with Toon22, I would take relegation if the parasite would leave, but I wonder what would be left behind. It’s frightening what could happen to our club.

Living near Bury, Bolton and Blackpool I have experience of asset strippers. The football authorities have to sort this out before we lose a host of famous clubs to these parasites.
