FCInterNews have a report that both Newcastle and Arsenal are tracking Inter Milan’s 15-year-old striker Degnand Wilfried Gnonto.
The report claims that despite the player not turning 16 until next month, the Serie A club is going to offer the Italian Under-17 international his first professional contract. They are in a rush to do this to ward off any advances from Newcastle and Arsenal.
Gnonto has scored 5 goals in his 5 appearances for the Italian Under-18s and is considered a top prospect by the club. The report also refers to him as Il nuovo Oba Martins (The new Oba Martins).
The former Inter Milan striker Martins joined Newcastle in 2006 and took over the number 9 shirt from the retiring Alan Shearer.
Here is some footage of the player in a recent Italy U-18 match where Gnonto scored two and assisted on another.

With the youngster rising through the Italian national and Inter Milan ranks, we doubt that Newcastle have much of a chance at landing the prospect. However, it is positive that the club is linked to promising youngsters like Gnonto.

Comment #2If he stays at Inter, he has the opportunity to train with world class players, and coaches, where if he comes to the Toon he can be coached by the clueless, and train with the Brazilian equivalent of Kevin Kyle.

told Charnley to keep him , if he’d been in place earlier”
Wtf are these two apologists smoking, Jib thinking Bruce or Charnley has got any say and Bills Son is Back thinking that if there’s a January story it must be true. Gawd ‘elp us 😮

Comment #7Ashley having a pop at the Competitions body now and that’s after he challenged Nike’s choice not to deal with SDI? He’s getting a bit big for his boots and must come a cropper soon. His legals must be making a fortune out of the greedy git.
Why do I see parallels between Ashley and Trump’s behaviours?

Comment #8If anybody thinks Charnley’s got any real authority as MD, they need to wake up to the reality – Charnley’s MD in name onty and Barnes is the one who’s running the club for Ashley.

Comment #9Robleenio – you make me laugh with your pompous up your own ar$e comments.
Bill’s Son #74 “Neither the Mansours nor BZG have ever stated that formal offers were made and rejected”
Bill’s Son #77 “BZG said they’d submitted all of the required paperwork to the FA – that can only be done once a club has formally accepted an offer” Which one is it?
If Ashley never accepted an offer (if he had the supposed cam’t be shamed BZG would surely have trumpeted that from the high heavens) then BZG couldn’t have submitted approval paperwork to the FA.
Ashley also stated “what’s another £10M to billionaires” – you don’t say that if you’ve formally accepted an offer and allowed BZG to submit docs to the FA – and don’t say Ashley moved the goalposts – there would have been hell on from the ‘can’t be shamed Saudi’s’ if that had happened.
Therefore, BZG were lying. Any other conclusion is just sticking your head in a Saudi sand dune.
What part of all that don’t you get?

The greedy git
Those two statements are in direct contradiction
The Competition and Markets Authority exists to protect the consumer and keep
prices down
It’s JD Sports Nike and Adidas who are the greedy ones

Comment #12Also is it a coincidence they got the new manager in AFTER Rondon, Diame and Perez were all snapped up?
A new manager might have wanted the Toon to fight to keep those players whereas Bruce was signed after and was over the moon for being allowed to “spend more money than he ever has”…..

Comment #15MagpieRanger – 9 takeover attempts?
Another load of bollocks.
Barry Moat – total chancer looking for publicity.
Staveley & Kenyon – no personal funds – trying to put consortiums together.
BZG – enough hot air to fill a 100 big balloons.
Kenyon second time round – same as the first time.
The Mexicans – didn’t have a bean – jumping or non jumping.
Not ONE buyer has ever come forward and publicly stated that Ashley has rejected a formal offer for the club.
All of the rumours suggesting Ashley has rejected offers, moved goal posts, doesn’t really want to sell, etc.,etc., etc., have come fans or ragtop journo’s wanting to have a dig at him.
I want a change of owner, but other than the bollocks I now know came from BZG I’ve never got excited once about that possibility.

It might come as a surprise to you, but I do know what the Competition authority’s for. Ashley’s challenging it because it found no problem with his major competitor – JD Sports.
And where Nike’s concerned, it does not want to deal with SDI any more than it does – Nike likes to deal with outlets that have an image for quality in the way they operate. They don’t want to be associated with the likes of SD and its tatty image.
SD asking Nike to supply its high end products to be sold through SD outlets is akin like Jiblet’s (Quality Cars) Ltd asking Rolls-Royce Motors for a dealership – the latter has a reputation to maintain and thus it wouldn’t happen.

You are lumping 3 players together to falsely prove a point
1) Anyone with half a brain could work out that Big Ron was going to go to China
with Rafa
2) Perez wanted to leave for months and said as much to Spanish media
3) Diamé wanted just a year extension

You’re fast gaining a reputation as Jib mk2.
You’re either supporting the notion that Ashley hasn’t had an reasonable offer for the club. Could it be he’s asking too much?
You seem to be doing what Jib does so well – narcissism and controversy. The latter’s a product of the former.

Wrong wrong and wrong looks like you aren’t using the half of your brain that works 🙂
Diame wanted a 2 year deal the club only offered one
Rondon has said in interviews recently that he really wanted to stay we know what club policy is regarding him
The club with more ambition could have easily kept Perez hes not on massive wages at Leicester

Comment #29If Ashley wanted to see he would drop the price to 275 million, that would allow him to recoup his investment and make a few quid on top – he would probably also need to tear up the nufc contracts he’s given to family and sports direct …. In truth he’s not bothered about selling or the abuse he gets from toon fans … Easy advertising vehicle for his tat shops

Comment #34Lard arse will never publicly confirm whether there is or has ever been an offer on the table, because it directly challenges the notion he doesn’t want to sell. As long as he can publicly brand them “tyre kickers” and “time wasters” he can keep up the public persona of “oh look, poor Mikey, he really is trying to sell the club, honest. It’s just nobody has got the money” . There’s a world of difference between the club being up for sale and lardey actively seeking out a buyer. Is he really doing everything he can? Course he bloody isn’t. As George caulkin said either he’s not very good at it or he doesn’t want to sell.
