Newcastle Send Scouts To Watch Czech International

According to a report in Club Call, Newcastle sent scouts to watch Spartak Moscow midfielder Alex Kral this past weekend.

The 21-year-old defensive midfielder was also being watched by Norwich City, Burnley, and Brighton. Everton have had scouts watch the Czech Republic international this year as well.

Yesterday, Newcastle were said to be in preliminary discussions for Strasbourg defensive midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko.

So it looks like Newcastle are in the market for a defensive midfielder. With Mohammed Diame leaving on a free this summer, maybe either Kral or Sissoko are being sought as his replacement.

It’s a familiar story for Kral, however. He just joined Spartak Moscow in September for a little over £10m from Czech club Slavia Prague, who are Martin Dubravka’s former club Sparta Prague’s biggest rivals.

Kral has 7 caps for the Czech Republic since making his debut this past March. He has also made six appearances for Spartak since joining in September.

We are not sure how much the 6’1″ midfielder would cost but we would hope that Newcastle’s main targets this winter are in attack.

If he’s an international team-mate perhaps we checked him out on
    Dub’s recommendation

Midfield is where we are seriously lacking especially if we are wanting to start to move to 4 at the back these problems should have been addressed in the summer but looks like we will panic buy a few players in !

So we are sending scouts ?

Who actually decides who we buy anyhow ?

    It’s obviously not the manager

Diame left the club just over a week before Bruce signed for us
    Bad timing
Bruce brought Mo from West ham to Hull and I’m sure would have
told Charnley to keep him , if he’d been in place earlier.

Jib, I don’t believe Dubravka is allowed to play for the Czech Republic, what with not being Czech and also representing the Slovak’s at international level.
