Sky Sports Reporter Claims West Ham Too Soon For Star Defender

Fabian Schar spoke to Sky Sports on Wednesday and had quite a positive view of Newcastle’s season and potential for improvement.

Fabian did not mention his knee injury in the report or what his status would be for Saturday’s match at West Ham.

However another Sky Sports reporter, Keith Downie, also interviewed the 27-year-old defender. Downie gave the following update on Schar’s return from his knee injury.

This is disappointing that one of our best players is likely to miss a second straight game. However, Fede Fernandez came in for Schar against Watford and was outstanding.

The 30-year-old Argentine was stout in his defensive duties while putting in the lethal cross that Jamaal Lascelles headed home for the first half lead.

This is another great opportunity for Fernandez who never lets Newcastle down.

Who Was Newcastle's Best Player For The Month Of October?

  • Allan Saint-Maximin (42%, 277 )
  • Fabian Schar (34%, 223 )
  • Ciaran Clark (11%, 70 )
  • Matty Longstaff (10%, 67 )
  • Martin Dubravka (3%, 18 )

West Ham are 5 matches in all competitions without a win. at least a point is achievable. i’m going 0-1.

It’ll be interesting to hear what the Ashley lovers have to say about attendances and in particular Ashley’s rape of the club’s assets.

What a shit that man is.

Thanks for link . I’m just off to check it out .

Lesh , remember White Heat and the Loud Guitars ?

Bob’s bands never quite made it , he was destined for more important things .. if they had been out of Liverpool and John Peel had took an interest long term they would have done just fine.

Clashed with a lot of synth pop at the time .

    Genji,

I listened to that link you provided, quite interesting (although there was nothing in there that I didn’t know already)

What I find interesting is that, in that interview, they :-
    A) got some details wrong
    B) missed out some pretty significant events

Now, I don’t know whether that was accidental or by design (it could be they were simply trying to give a simplified timeline that everyone understands)
I also don’t know if some of the things they missed out are beneficial or detrimental to Ashley (and therefore their narrative of events).

What I do know is, if you want the de facto truth (and that’s what you portrayed this as)…..then it’s not accurate. It could be that the de facto truth paints Ashley in an even worse light, but it could also be that it doesn’t.
I’ve spent huge amounts of time trying to follow the money trail on this one – and I can’t figure out exactly what went down and when.

Since, we’re on topic……I started as a striker (was a dream, but I was no good)
Went back to midfield, was no good – I was too lazy
Went back to center back – did ok (at amateur level)

I’m happy to put my (seriouly lacking) credentials on the table……

Yes I would have seen the game. Never missed a home game. Until the 80s when I had my family. It as so violent then had to get out of the crowd a couple of times.
