Fabian Schar spoke to Sky Sports on Wednesday and had quite a positive view of Newcastle’s season and potential for improvement.
Fabian did not mention his knee injury in the report or what his status would be for Saturday’s match at West Ham.
However another Sky Sports reporter, Keith Downie, also interviewed the 27-year-old defender. Downie gave the following update on Schar’s return from his knee injury.
Just interviewed Newcastle defender Fabian Schär. Seems upbeat about severity of his knee injury, but seems very unlikely he’ll play against West Ham this weekend #NUFC
— Keith Downie (@SkySports_Keith) October 30, 2019
This is disappointing that one of our best players is likely to miss a second straight game. However, Fede Fernandez came in for Schar against Watford and was outstanding.
The 30-year-old Argentine was stout in his defensive duties while putting in the lethal cross that Jamaal Lascelles headed home for the first half lead.
This is another great opportunity for Fernandez who never lets Newcastle down.
Who Was Newcastle's Best Player For The Month Of October?
- Allan Saint-Maximin (42%, 277 )
- Fabian Schar (34%, 223 )
- Ciaran Clark (11%, 70 )
- Matty Longstaff (10%, 67 )
- Martin Dubravka (3%, 18 )

This is we where you’re going wrong….I have no reason whatsoever to ring anyone up and debate with them. Until you posted that link I had no idea that such a broadcast existed.
You posted it on this blog, I listened to it and am giving you (who posted it) my feedback….

Comment #54What does NYMag actually do, when he first started posting I got to thinking he was some kind of financial auditor in a professional capacity, the more he posts though it sounds like he’s just someone with enough time on his hands to read hundreds of pages of stuff on the internet then blow his own trumpet that says he’s better a reading hundreds of pages of stuff on the internet than you!!

Comment #59Nothing wrong with what NY said and the usual crowd who can’t enter into any debate jump on him. It’s a difference of opinion that is all and just because it relates to Ashley he will be branded some sort of PR or Ashley lover. Can anyone actually name one poster on the blog that likes Ashley and wants him to stay at the club? In fact I seen the likes of Toon say he would not want Kenyon in and keep Ashley over him. If that’s not being Pro Ashley over anything else that’s ever been said on here I don’t know what is.

No its not.
Greg and Shaun know what they are talking about.
The difference is Greg has got actual documents and club accounts to look at as he is on the trust board same as Shaun.
What Greg has discovered has lead to a big firm objecting.
So i know whos version of events i believe.
Unless Ny mag works for the company behind the development.

Comment #67Genj sorry I may not understand the relationship the trust has with the club but have the club shared official documents that are not available to the public with the likes of Greg and Shaun detailing events? I suggest not (again could be wrong) and NY likely has the and access to public documents the trust members do.

NY’s key paragraph is the last one
What I do know is, if you want the de facto truth (and that’s what you portrayed this as)…..then it’s not accurate. It could be that the de facto truth paints Ashley in an even worse light, but it could also be that it doesn’t.
I’ve spent huge amounts of time trying to follow the money trail on this one – and I can’t figure out exactly what went down and when.

Comment #75NY made the point that Greg only mentions stuff
that puts Ashley in a bad light and supresses anything positive
which weakens the force of his argument.
He also uses phrase like:-
we suspect
we can’t prove it
it looks like
etc. etc.
which again weakens the argument

Comment #76I hate Bruce even more now knowing he had the chance to sign a proven goalscorer, who is already adapted to the English style for a bargain 20m. Now he cant complain if he has nobody that’s ever scored more than 10 in a season.

If anything it paints Bruce in even more of a bad light for incompetence if he has turned down that transfer!
What should he care if its too much !? Should have been banging the door for a striker and in the end hes accepted taking Carroll the cheap option whos now injured and now with the bad weather coming in is he likely to start a game before January? Very much doubt it

Do you honestly think Bruce would have had any say at all in a players value, if he did he’d have surely put his foot down with Joelinton. If it is actually an official line that Bruce has kyboshed the transfer then it’s just more backfiring PR.

@67, if that is the case then it proves my point from earlier even more, that all NYMag is, is someone reading documents available to anyone and making out that he understands them the best.
