Who Did Our Readers Select As The October Player Of The Month?

We have a new player of the month this time around. After Fabian Schar was selected for the months of August and September, he could only manage second place for October.

It’s Allan Saint-Maximin who has edged out Schar in this month’s poll. What a month it has been for the 22-year-old winger.

He returned from injury to claim his place in the squad. With his October performances he now should be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Of the 655 total votes, Allan collected 277 of them for 42%. Though, Fabian Schar was not too far behind suprisingly. The Swiss defender was still able to get 34% of the vote despite playing just two games.

All of the five players up for selection had an excellent month for Newcastle. It shows that we a model group of professionals that two of the five were on the fringe before this month.

Matty Longstaff and Ciaran Clark came in when the club needed them to. That augurs well that Newcastle have players with the right mentality to stay fit and ready for when their time comes.

The same goes for this month’s winner Allan Saint-Maximin. His first few months on Tyneside were a bit frustrating with his hamstring injury. But since he’s come back fit, he’s been in terrific form.

Who Was Newcastle's Best Player For The Month Of October?

  • Allan Saint-Maximin (42%, 277 )
  • Fabian Schar (34%, 223 )
  • Ciaran Clark (11%, 70 )
  • Matty Longstaff (10%, 67 )
  • Martin Dubravka (3%, 18 )

Total Voters: 655

I didn’t vote in this poll because I found it very difficult to choose anyone who has been outstanding for the whole month – looking at the relatively low number of total voters a few more must have thought the same!

I suppose if you are comparing Gayle to Bowen well one is young and the other is older and very injury prone!

Gayle has scored lots of goals in promotion battling teams Bowen has scored goals at Hull who were battling relegation for lots of the time last season….

Every player is a risk even ones proven in the premiership don’t necessarily do well at their next club when we bought Murphy he was actually one of the standout players in the championship the previous season so there could have been every hope that he turned into the next success story from the lower leagues!

Jail I don’t know if he has but if NY has spent hours looking in detail at the information available regarding the sale that does in fact mean he is more knowledgeable than the large majority on here in my eyes. I am betting most just listen to what the likes of this Sean says and take it as gospel when he probably does not have more info than anyone else.

Joe hasn’t scored many so far for any team
If Rafa didn’t want him who exactly decided they knew better ?
    It wasn’t the traitor
Although Ronaldo would struggle to score in our team atm

Toon you are yet to show me why that is incorrect (although I would never use the phrase mint for any company accounts lol).

    Extract from the Grauniad today…

Corbyn will dismiss Johnson’s claims to represent the “people” at his campaign launch event in south London, where he will promise to take on “born-to-rule Conservatives,” who “protect the privileged few”.

Among his criticisms of high-profile businessmen, Corbyn will renew his war of words with the Sports Direct founder, asking: “Whose side are you on? The bad bosses like Mike Ashley, the billionaire who won’t pay his staff properly and is running Newcastle United into the ground? Or his exploited workforce, like the woman who was reportedly forced to give birth in a warehouse toilet because she was terrified of missing her shift?”

I think the player we are missing the most out of all of this is Perez a lot of people didn’t like him but he was so crucial to the way we were playing at the end of last season he was finally becoming a man!

His aggression in winning the ball back would set the tone for us and his link up play with Rondon and Almiron was good to see I think Joelinton would have liked to have been playing with him as no one gets close to him to benefit from his flicks or hold up play!

“It’s strange that there are two parallel competing narratives at the moment. Inside the club they say they’re calm about what’s unfolding, ignoring the outside noise and concentrating on results and outcomes. But what we see at weekends means alarm bells should be ringing.

Newcastle need to be making plans now to intervene with an early January transfer plan, not the delay and frustration of previous windows. And they should also be thinking about what happens next if the worst happens.”

    SUMS IT UP PERFECTLY

on a different note we should play 4411 in west ham game..and push matty longstff at false 9 position..hes got a good shot in him..and is most likely to score a goal compared to others in that position.

Yeah would like to see us try something different although I fear no matter what we do West Ham will sweep us aside easily

They did so last season as they just have superior players than us and they have improved again this season be very surprised if we don’t get beat 2 or 3 nil

I’m not getting all the hate towards NY Mag – I don’t know what his job is but it’s pretty obvious he has an analytical mind. All he’s saying is he has also studied the Strawberry Place docs and does not agree with some of the conclusions of TMG/NUST. I’ve no idea who this Gregg is that Genjikai seems to hold in god like status but I’m sure he makes mistakes like the rest of us – no need to be crucifying NY Mag over it.
