‘Feeling Grateful’ – Winger Responds To Shearer’s Team Selection

Early on Monday, Alan Shearer’s team of the week was announced, and it contained 22-year-old Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin as well as Steve Bruce as manager.

Allan Saint-Maximin has since taken to Twitter to express his gratitude at being selected by the Newcastle legend.

Allan has certainly endeared himself to the Newcastle faithful as he seems to just make all the right moves with the fans. On Sunday, he tweeted the following response to Chris Waugh’s tweet about Saint-Maximin handing his shirt to a traveling fan.

The 22-year-old’s form since returning from his hamstring injury has been remarkable. He has added such a spark to the Newcastle attack. That spark caught fire against West Ham and led to a flurry of golden chances.

Saint-Maximin has been such a joy to watch over the past month as he frightened the living daylights out of defenses. We just can’t wait to see the winger’s reaction when he finally opens his account for the Magpies.

He’ll have another opportunity this weekend as Newcastle face Bournemouth on Saturday at St James Park. At home would before the next international break would be a fitting time for Allan to get that elusive first goal for his new club.

Perhaps you’d have the courtesy to explain why, as you would have it, I’m an idiot?

I’ll await your expert analysis with interest.

Still no reply to my request for your expert analysis yet. Are you still preparing it, having it peer reviewed or just unable to back up your statement?

More unrest at the club, it seemed a weird appointment anyway, the kids were doing well under Dawson, back to square one.

    Carltoon,

Presumably Dawson (as head of the academy) will at least get a big say in whoever is appointed next.
Or maybe I’m grasping at straws 🙂

Who knows, we would hope Dawson had a say, that’s what should happen. I wonder what happened. I might be able to find out.

Carltoon, in all seriousness, I would hope Dawson had a big say in who was appointed. You’d have to assume that if he didn’t he would be pretty hacked off

Yes your right, we can only assume and hope he does. Yes that Charnleys a very busy man. Are we the only club with a director, who does absolutely everything, including making the tea.

I presume everything goes from Charnley to Justine Barnes, then to Ashley, by that time it’s too late to get anyone decent. They’ve given up or got another job.

So what’s Richard Keys tweeting about. What’s he keeping up his sleeve, apart from his hairy hands. What an odious man he is.

    Carltoon,

It appears the decision flow is Charnley, Barnes, Ashley – I have no idea if that’s actually true or not. Nor what decisions are potentially put through that route.

Organizational inefficiency is not the only aspect that’s preventing the club from attracting talent (coaching staff, players, scouting team). It would be hard to find a competent individual to take a job where the infrastructure is lacking and flexibility and creativity are suppressed by an ownership devoid of professional senses.

    Bill’s Son is Back,
It must be because you’re such a fun guy that you think Clarkey lacks in personality. I think he comes across really well on his Monday night slot and clearly knows his stuff on NE football. Are you expecting him to combine it with a stand up comedy routine.

I think Clark’s TV manner is a bit stiff but he comes
    across as thoughtful and knowledgeable.
The good thing if it is Charnley picking NR’s replacement.
He knows all our ex-players back until KK’s first tenure as
    manager.
His main fault with Beardsley was loyalty which is normally
    a good characteristic.
Stevie Watson is a good shout.

Steve Watson would be more of a sentimental appointment imo, why not show some intent and attempt to get a young modern coach along the lines of Cathro.

Ian Cathro has just been pedalled from Hearts
    along with Craig Levein
Whoever is appointed Under 23 coach will be
an indicator of how strong Bruce’s position in
    the club is.
