Newcastle Defender Gets First International Call-Up In Over A Year

Ciaran Clark has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for next week’s friendly against New Zealand and their Euro qualifier against Denmark on the following Monday.

This is what manager Mick McCarthy had to say about Ciaran to the Republic of Ireland website:

“Ciaran is in the same boat. He had to get back with Newcastle before he could back with us but he is playing well for them now and I was impressed with him against West Ham last Saturday.”

Clark returned to the Newcastle team against Manchester United last month making his first start for Newcastle since January. He has now started the last four matches for Newcastle and put in some excellent performances including a goal at West Ham.

His last cap for the Republic of Ireland was in September of 2018. However, he was called up for a match against Denmark in the Nations League last October. Clark has made 32 international appearances with 2 goals.

    As promised, again

Before i get into any trubble with the blog speling polyce I want to:-

Get down on my knees, beat my head against the floor, beat myself with twigs, wear the itchiest hair shirt i can find, deprive myself of sleep, go shopping with the wife (mine), read the most boring bloggers assertions and complaints till my brain bursts apologise for any Typo’s I have ever made or will most certainly make in my comments.

There hopefully that will spare me from getting abuse or criticism from certain moronic posters.

Your’s in a true spirit of freindship and trust

    HWA #6 last thread,

I agree that we could be 2 points off 5th. by Tuesday.

I predicted last Friday that the bottom seven teams would lose last weekend but we went and stuffed West Ham and both Wolves and Everton managed to get a draw. Apart from that I called Villa, Soton, Norwich and Watford correctly. Not difficult, I agree, because they are all struggling teams. But I also predicted the Manu would finish in tenth place, which they did. Not a bad Mystic Meg effort overall if I say so myself (and I do) and, of course, I’m absolutely delighted that I got our score so badly wrong.

So I’ll stick my neck out this week and predict that we will beat Brighton and finish the weekend above Manure, Spurs and Wolves who could all be facing score draws. Unlikely, I know, but possible. And we can dream…

That seems to fit with your prediction.

What would be the odds on that then Jane?

    Thought I’d go again:

Someone asked the other day how Rafa was getting on in China so I conferred with my source,a Mr Cho from the Golden Dragon.

He assured me that as expected Rafa has made a strong impression on the locals. They have found him to be professional, unflappable and full of integrity.

However, the mask slipped one night when he was awakened by suspicious noises coming from his bedroom closet. He panicked, hit the alarm and began yelling and screaming for the security officers as he sobbed and cowered in his en-suite.

It was then that they discovered a chink in his armoire!

    OK OLG,

I’ll bet half a crown at evens.

We’re fired up. The front three are getting closer to scoring and we’ve got as good a defence as theirs. Well worth 2/6d.

I also think there is no chance of us beating Brighton this weekend. Anyone thinking of waging daft bets with fellow bloggers better check the fixture list first.
