Newcastle Maintain Interest In Prolific Striker With Low Release Clause

Newcastle were first linked with Genk striker Mbwana Samatta this past July. BBC reporter Ian Dennis has tweeted that Newcastle still maintain an interest in the prolific forward.

The 26-year-old Tanzanian forward scored an amazing 32 goals in 51 appearances for Genk last season. This season he already has bagged 8 goals including 2 in the Champions League.

With his release clause being just £10m, Samatta is well within Newcastle’s price range for a January move. He will, however, turn 27 next month so is pushing the the boundary of Newcastle’s age policy for transfers.

Samatta joined Genk in 2016 for fee of around £600k from DR Congo club Mazembe. He has been capped 51 times for Tanzania with 18 international goals.

It’s a big step up from the Belgian Jupiler Pro League to the Premier League. However, with his release clause being well below his potential value, he might be a shrewd target for January.

How Will Newcastle Do Against Bournemouth On Saturday?

  • Win (63%, 727 )
  • Draw (22%, 256 )
  • Lose (14%, 163 )

hibbit @1 – As much as it pains me to say it they do sort of have a point. Why do MP’s investigate some companies going bust such as Thomas Cook but not others such as Debenhams?

Reading Dougie on an earlier thread saying he can’t stand that we have to rely on a player in the ilk of Hayden.

He is in amazing form, progressing year on year and made Declan Rice look second rate to him on the weekend.

This blog has more clueless complainers daily

On topic Samatta would be a risk but if he has scored goals in the CL then he can’t be that bad – certainly less of a risk than Joelinton at £40m!

totally agree with you on that, all these deals should be looked at as a matter of course, but i have a feeling that’s not what Mr Ashley wants he only wants inquiries into the ones he’s been burned in, not the one’s he’s made huge profits from,

I never comment on here as it went ridiculous a few years ago but honestly seeing what has been written recently about “that post” is crazy. It’s like people are looking to be offended so go out of their way to point out the typo. To any normal thinking human it was the most clear and obvious typo – nothing should have even been mentioned about it as it was that obvious but some snowflake decides it could be offensive and subsequently Bill should apologise to all and sundry. Give yourself a shake if you’re offended by a typographical error and get in the real world where there’s far more important things going on. Rant over!

”Two injured, 100 evacuated after landslides in northern Italian holiday resort ”
A couple from Milan was reported to have been injured after the landslides, caused by a large group of people trying to escape from geordietom’s shite patter.
Their car was one of several swept away by mud after one of the landslides flooded a small side valley close to the town of Planpincieux.
The otherwise tranquil resort of Courmayeur which had never been affected by landslides before was hit after tourist geordietom arrived in the resort the day before. As more and more tourists got nearer to the edge of the cliff to try and get as far away as possible from the source of the shite patter, the cliffs began to fall away.
When rescue workers arrived they initially tried to stem the landslides with wire meshing but then decided to train their efforts on geordietom and wrapping him in a ton of the specialised steel, which seemed to stem the slides immediately.

A total of 123 people were evacuated from the valley, many transported by helicopter. The evacuees spent the night at a local golf club and on Tuesday morning the Val Ferret muncipality ordered the evacuation of approximately a further 200 people. geordietom in a hospital isolation ward is still having the meshing removed and will be charged with GBP, Italian police said.

Neil……… English humour is obviously different to yours over there and is based on sarcasm , irony and banter. I am sure most folk on here have realised that my comments to Bills Son from the get go were a wind up and a tease. Unfortunately you have taken my comments at face value and got caught up in the proceedings. I can assure you I am no snowflake.

I hope this clarifies and clears up this matter which was purely daftness.

Martoon………. Samatta would be a great signing for us. He has been banging em in left right and centre for Gent and I can’t understand why he’s not been snapped up. I’ve seen him play for Tanzania a few times and he looks the biz to me.

Betty if your going to humourously wind people up, next time I suggest you add at least a hint of humour while you do it. That way all other readers won’t assume it was the typical petty point scoring against a known enemy of yours that it appeared to be.

One thing I’ve always wondered is are the alt hunters
    a) genuinely bonkers or
    b) do they just do that to get under peoples skin and get a reaction or
    c) do they just do it so it seems like they are only arguing against one person rather than an endless stream of readers.

    Aye geordietom,
He needs to find a way of getting these hard working backs against the wall displays transferred in to home displays. I know West Ham have been shite but apparently we were great, he/we can’t afford more home displays like the Brighton, Watford and Wolves debacles.

geordietom – Welcome back; sounds like you had a lovely holiday.

And yes, back to football…I certainly hope Newcastle can keep the momentum going and get 3 more points this weekend. Hopefully having finally scored more than one goal in a match has given them some confidence! They just can’t let the other side claw back into it late like they did last week. That’s down to Bruce, though. He should have made subs earlier than he did.

Before i get into any trubble with the blog speling polyce I want to:-

Get down on my knees, beat my head against the floor, beat myself with twigs, wear the itchiest hair shirt i can find, deprive myself of sleep, go shopping with the wife (mine), read the most boring bloggers assertions and complaints till my brain bursts apologise for any Typo’s I have ever made or will most certainly make in my comments.

There hopefully that will spare me from getting abuse or criticism from certain moronic posters.

    geordietom,
I don’t think it’s stage fright, maybe the flat atmosphere isn’t helping but it’s more to do with not knowing how to break down teams that aren’t coming at you. It’s all very well going 30% possession against big teams or away and sneaking a result but against teams like Brighton and almost losing it’s not acceptable, we’ll see what he does on Saturday, imo if he wants the crowd on side he needs to put his bold words in to actions and start lifting the crowd a bit.
