Freddie Woodman made his 16th straight start for Swansea as they traveled to play Jacob Murphy and Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough. Jacob Murphy also was handed his first league start in almost two months. He had a goal-scoring cameo at Blackburn last weekend.
It was an exciting game that ended 2-2 with a stoppage-time goal from both sides. Swansea leveled the match in the 94th minute after the Owls had taken the lead three minutes earlier. Jacob Murphy was substituted for by Adam Reach in the 75th minute. The draw leaves Swansea fourth in the table and Sheffield Wednesday seventh.

Kelland Watts, who signed a new three-year deal with Newcastle this week, was handed his ninth straight start at home against League One’s Peterborough in the FA Cup. However, Watts was forced off in the 11th minute with an injury. It is believed to be just a knock from an earlier tackle which he was booked for. The match ended 1-1 as former Magpie Marcus Maddison leveled for Peterborough late.

Comment #82Well, we’ve taken 10 points from the last 15, so not now and probably never Nufc.
We’ve paid 40 million for this kid, who’s adjusting to a new and very difficult role, and a new league, and improving, along with the side.
Injury would force a change, or a bad run of defeats, perhaps, or a new signing to take his place, which is quite unlikely, given that he and Carroll have just arrived.

Great to be where we are in the league at present, but we all know we are in for a massive disappointment somewhere along the line with the Slug owning us.

After all these years yiv been postin’ on here, ya still livin’ in cloud cuckoo land. What ya sayin’ about uupgrades and the like makes sense but ya forgettin” about Mr No Can Do… Ashley.
If we had an owner whose approach to owning the Club was an ‘how we can’ rather than a ‘why we can’t’, them yes, your suggestions might have validity.
However, we’re stuck with Ashley who’d more focused on ripping what he can out of Newcastle United than helping the club grow.

Comment #88Yeah, well, I’d agree, while I don’t think Gayle or Muto up top is much of an alternative, and we should persevere with Joel, being only 22 new to the league and the role, improving, and having paid so much for him, unless the front three start contributing goals, there’s still plenty of time for things to go badly wrong.
