‘Ginola Mark 2’ – Fans React To New Video Of The Brilliant Allan Saint-Maximin

Allan Saint-Maximin was at it again this past Saturday with another highlight reel performance. The mercurial Frenchman put on a show for the crowd at St James Park.

This time it took him a little while to get going as Newcastle were off to a sluggish start. However, once the 22-year-old had grown into the game, it was a joy to behold.

This season Allan has started 6 of Newcastle’s 12 games, including the one at Spurs where he had to be substituted after 15 minutes. In those matches, Newcastle have gained 13 of their 15 points and scored 8 of their 11 goals in the league.

So his impact to the side has been demonstrable. He seems to be only getting better with each passing game.

BNS Comps has again compiled a video of Allan Saint-Maximin’s highlights from this past weekend.

Newcastle fans have responded to this latest video as you would expect – with praise and gratitude that the young winger is gracing St James Park with his skills.

Raheem Sterling has been dropped for England’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Montenegro on Thursday after a bust-up with Joe Gomez at St George’s Park.

Emotions were still running high on Monday afternoon following Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester City 24 hours earlier and the title rivalry spilled over into the England camp. City’s Sterling and Liverpool’s Gomez were involved in a heated clash towards the end of the match at Anfield and both players had to be separated again after reporting for international duty. Jiblets,
I’ve never spoken to Lejuene, spoke to Sissoko once in the airport but that was a while ago and I think I told you already.

    What an insult to Maxi,
Ginola was a 2 faced arrogant twat that loved himself more than the attention he received and he liked to be centre of attention.
Maxi is a fantastic footballer without the arrogance !

Not to say he won’t get there, but so far, his career to date doesn’t put him close to Ginola. Hopefully he becomes that for us, but early days right now.

Geordie-John @ 3. Still the most sublime and skillfull footballer I have ever seen in a Toon top in my life (Ginola that is). If ASM could even emulate half of that skill we would have one hell of a player.

    RobLeenio,
Was that not the game when it looked like Rafa finally lost patience with Mitro, we were one nil up, Diame should have put the game out of sight but missed or hit the crossbar, then Mitro came on and just didn’t give a foot, they murdered us for about 15/20 minutes.

    @Munster

In comparison to Villa in the championship they spent more money than us (we had zero net spend near enough)! Rafa and Di Matteo both Champions league winning managers but Rafa’s recruitment was so much better than Roberto’s! That was the difference!

Rafa actually spoke to a lot of managers and went for players that were up for the battle and could handle the expectation of playing for Newcastle in the lower leagues as people forget teams used to play like it was their cup final against us and Villa! Richie , Gayle and Diame and even Hanley came in did their job and got us promoted first time of asking as champions!

Whereas Villa signed Micah Richards , Koija and Ross Mccormack all for big money and flopped massively!

Ginola was a totally different type of player to ASM.

Ginola had a far wider range of skills… a brilliant crosser, finisher, dribbler and passer.

I remember being at a sports night and Johm Beresford was on our table. He said him and Scott Sellars were big mates and when Ginola signed Sellars said that’s me out of the first team.

John said he decided to make life difficult for Ginola in the first training session and deliberately blasted a pass at him for close range about chest high. Ginola puled it down smoothly ,turned and fired a shot into the top corner.

Beresford looked over at Scott Sellars and said “I think you might be right”.

Ginola was a proper footballer, he had great awaremess of what was going on around him and had a wide range of skills to beat a player. Like ASM he was also very strong, deceptively so.

As others have said, if ASM comes close to Ginola he’ll be some player.

People are forgetting about Laurent Robert. He was a match winner. Hit the net on a regular basis and had the best shot in the world. Are most efficient winger by a mile. Ginola was a fantastic player and it was suicidal to sell him and Ferdinand, however, Robert was more of a goalscorer and had more pace.

Is this the best squad of players that Bruce has ever worked with?

Just looking at some of his teams and he has never had a solid base of quality as much as we have to work with 6 solid centre halfs that complement each other well and wing backs with pace!

A proper captain and a team ethic that gives 100% in every game the only place that he has more quality is probably in striker with Bent etc more likely to get a lot more goals than Joelinton at the moment!

It was televised I’m sure, aye ,just looked, it was a half five kick off on a Saturday night, just looked at the subs, Tiote came on and was also shite, I remember thinking he was going to be an absolute beast in the Championship and raring to put himself in the shop window, I think by then he’d fallen out with the club and was never the same after that Chelsea transfer fiasco.

Kets, you just beat me to it.

If anyone hasn’t watched a compilation of Robert’s goals on youtube go and look, the guy scored some of the best I’ve ever seen.

Mind, he used to drive SBR nuts. There was one match were an oppo player go injured and SBR was screaming at Robert , who was standing near the centre circle, trying to get his attention. Robert just ignored him. Eventually Shearer went over and pointed to SBR who told Robert to stop drifting inside and stay on the wing. I sit directly about the dug out and I could every word.

Robert nodded and walked over to the touchline.

As soon as play restarted Robert went straight back inside and SBR started screaming again.

Of course Robert pretended again he couldn’t hear and SBR booted a piece of paper away in frustration.

    Hilarious.

I bet the air was blue in the dressing room at half time.

What a player though. Magic he was.

When we went down, we kept most of our players and signed players from the Premiership (Gayle, Diame, Clark, Hanley,Yedlin, Ritchie). I can’t believe that people have called us a championship team of players when most have years experience in the top league. Joke.

You just don’t know who you are dealing with on a blog, does Munster not realise that his knocking everything our former manager did, from Brighton going to sleep, to having the best squad in the Championship, yet giving him no credit at all for assembling said squad, for signing Dwight Gayle where as 99% of the blog, me included where saying sign Ross McCormack, for not playing two up top when we were so effective playing the way he set out, does he not realise that his constant nit picking of everything simply did not tie in with his claims of wanting him here long term and funded. Why is a manager who is so good open to such severe criticism and a manager who isn’t be given so much of a chance, surely it should be the other way round.

Yar, he obviously had an attitude problem. I think he is currently our best signing of all time with all the goals and assists that he’s provided. Shearer lost pace when he got that knee injury in 1998. Such a shame. Felt like he bulked up a bit too much too compared to 1996 and beforehand. I believe that we have the best defense that we’ve ever had in the past 25 years. ASM and Almiron are exciting. Just need players like Ben Arfa, Marveaux, Cisse, Ba, Remy, Rondon etc.

With the signings of Bowen and Ibrahima Sissoko in January, I expect the best team to look like this:

    Dubravka

    Yedlin Schar Lejuene Willems

    Ibrahima Sissoko

    Bowen Shelvey Saint-Maximin

    Almiron

    Gayle/Muto

Fernandez deserves a new contract and will challenge Schar and Lejuene for that first team spot. We can afford to get rid of Lacelles as Ciaran Clark has shown that he’s good enough and scores more goals. Ten goals is impressive. Ideally we need about three strikers but I can’t see it happening in January.

Well then Ketsbaia9 Clarke shall have to be given a new contract as his goes in to the last year at the end of this season, he’s just turned 30 and the ”purple” policy will be well and truly enforced now we don’t have anyone sensible at the club opposing such policies.

    Ketsbaia9,
To be fair to Joelinton, he’s not the type of striker that you’ve listed, personally I think it’s not only unfair on the lad expecting him to score the goals but really bad management that could have so easily been avoided.

Joelinton has some fantastic hold-up play, and brings other’s into the game. He just isn’t an out and out striker, and I don’t think he ever will be. Not entirely certain how he fits into our team to be honest, and I personally would like to see Dwight Gayle get his starting spot. I’m sure other’s will dissagree, but with the Pace on Miggy and ASM destroying defences, I think Gayle could have a field day right now.

Rafa was billed as world class and did a 6/10 job here which got him hero status. You’d think he’d done a Ranieri at Leicester the way some go on.

Likes of me and Munster just like to readdress the balance to try and ground people in reality.

Tbh I’m more fond of Hoots and think his departure was much more of an injustice and was more clearly Ashley’s doing and being unreasonable.

As I said yesterday. If Rafa were offered equal wage by Dalian as he was on here, he wouldn’t be over there for a ‘project’. Bet he’s not as happy half the world a way from his home in the Wirral, losing matches and working with a load of substandard players with lots of communication problems. I’ll give it until next summer and he’ll be out of there and back at a European club.

    Anyway……

As I don’t like to let anything go which I see and is false.

Yesterday a remark by somebody I didn’t pick up on at the time, saying they don’t think Bruce would have been capable of getting us back up out of the Championship first time of asking like Rafa did.

He did exactly that at Hull with a much worse squad and budget. Then walked away on principle due to a lack of transfer activity – so he is no puppet etc.

It’s just as easy to turn it around and say, would Rafa have kept Hull up and got them to an FA Cup final in their 1st season back in the PL? A team whose star players were Huddlestone and Jelavic. We’ll never know.

Sure Bruce is glad to have a bit more quality at his disposal for this venture in the PL.

So getting promoted in our first season, equalling our record consecutive wins and biggest away win, finishing tenth and then more points the season after while making our greedy owner a profit is only a six out of ten, you must surely be knocking off three points for a relegation that was pretty much nailed on before he got here anyway.

Also one of the most hated players in France originated by the public Cantona fallout .
He restored his flair, skill and popularity after signing for NUFC via KK, however that didn’t stop him taking the p##s out of NUFC after he left us for Spurs.
I also held Ginola in high esteem when at NUFC but when I watched the documentary on his career as a footballer he joked and scoffed at us Geordies on how they were met at the airport in a Rolls and drove himself and his Wife around looking for possible property to live in should he sign. Since that programme I have seen him for what he is, Arrogant backstabber !
