Newcastle Under-21s And Two Loan Lads In Action In Leasing.com Trophy

Newcastle’s Under-21 side traveled to face Port Vale in the Leasing.com Trophy match this afternoon. Unfortunately, the lads fell 2-1 to a late Port Vale goal and have lost all of their three games in the competition. However, young Elliot Anderson, who signed his first professional contract last week, was able to score his first goal at this level for Newcastle.

Dan Barlaser got his second straight start for Rotherham United in their 3-0 defeat at Lincoln City. Dan completed the entire match for the fourth time since joining Rotherham on loan. The Millers bow out of the Leasing.com Trophy with the loss.

Elias Sorensen was handed just his fourth start of the season for Carlisle in this afternoon’s 3-1 loss at Morecambe in the Leasing.com Trophy. It was the 20-year-old’s third start in the competition. Elias got a full ninety minutes under his belt, but he was unable to get his first goal on loan. Carlisle are eliminated from the competition.

Bleatin n bruced the defenders ground covered per game is on par with what it was last season. They actually hold shape really really well.

You’re question about can we keep it up for the whole season with results who knows, we have been very lucky with some results but I do believe a lot of luck is made. I can honestly say that I have been really enjoying our matches lately though, especially being in the crowd at west ham. Let’s wait and see, im predicting another 3 points away at Villa!

The following is an alleged statement, not a real one by me, I’m just passing it on ahem –

Aye Jane, but all this checkaracket type stuff is a subscription ruse. I spend a lot of time with compliance for certificating bodies and these “vetting” companies who “certify” “reputable tradesmen” amounts to verifying you have a landline, haven’t stolen your van and tools, and have a credit card with an acceptable limit for the required subscription.

Tsunki, i’ll try to answer your question despite the abusive tone.
Firstly, the defenders arent doing “80% of the teams work”
Can we carry it on? Yes we can, but we need investment.
However I dont think Bruce is great and we shud have kept benitez but he also had his own agenda.
If we get mid table ill be delighted but I expect a dip soon enough.
For now, SB deserves fan recognition that he is doing pretty good, given no real preseason etc.
No huge garlands, but as a Toon fan he has my backing , especially given the vitriol he received on here.
