These Are The Newcastle Players In International Action This Week

There will be just four Newcastle players in action for their countries over the next few weeks. However, Matty Longstaff and Joe White could also be involved at the youth level for England with their recent call-ups.

Ciaran Clark comes back into the Republic of Ireland fold after over a year since his last appearance. The Irish start with a friendly against New Zealand on Thursday. Then it’s the big one against Denmark in a 2020 Euro qualifier on Monday.

Both Ireland and Denmark are on 12 points to lead Group D with Switzerland close behind with 11 points. However, the Republic of Ireland have played 7 games while Denmark and Switzerland have only played 6. Fabian Schar will not feature for Switzerland due to his knee injury.

Martin Dubravka and Slovakia have two Euro qualifiers over the next week. First, they travel to Rijeka to face Croatia on Saturday. Then it’s back to Slovakia in a match against Azerbaijan on the following Tuesday. Slovakia are in third place in Group E behind both Croatia and Hungary, who have played 7 games to Slovakia’s 6. They trail Croatia by 4 points and Hungary by 2.

DeAndre Yedlin will be back playing in the CONCACAF Nations League for the United States. On Friday they host Canada and then next Tuesday they will play Cuba in the Cayman Islands. Canada lead the group of 3 nations with 9 points in their 3 matches. The USA have just 3 points in their 2 games played thus far.

Miguel Almiron and Paraguay have two friendlies coming up. First, they will travel to Sofia to play Bulgaria on Thursday, and then it’s off to face Saudia Arabia on Tuesday.

Matty Longstaff and Joe White have been called up for the England Under-20 and Under-18 teams, respectively. They both could get their first taste of international football over the next few weeks.

Mcginn is a great little player that Bruce signed for Villa !

He does seem to have a good record of buying guys from Scotland and there are a few players worth looking at up here especially Eduard and Callum Mcgregor both would take to the English league no problems

I’m just taking a break from writing delegation uplift requests – even a quiet blog is more interesting ha ha

From last post tom – we always enjoyed Pathos and the airport was ok. Everything is done in Cypriot time over there so i think you get used to it when living in Cyprus for a time.

    I’d go back there.

Worked with some mackem expats and i would go to their local in Erimi if we had one that day ha ha. Was always a laugh, I think it was called the Woodstock

I understand that Jamaal Lascelles has been ruled out until after Christmas or maybe this has already been noted on the blog?

Not heard that John – bad news for Lascelles and hope he makes a good recovery but at least it is in an area where we have decent depth.

The defenders will be chomping at the bit to get selected and I’m sure Lascelles will still be a presence in the dressing room and on the side.

Feels weird to get an injury and not feel like the whole team is doomed.

So I’m sat in the house, all the power is off in the area until 8pm apparently.

Yet across the road all the lights and power are on..

The grass isn’t greener but the heatings on and they surely have bait on the go.

Certainly makes you appreciate the stuff we take for granted.

Fish and chips and a cold wash in the sink never killed anyone.

There have been too many players that Ashley has moved on just for financial gain! That man could not run a p1ss up in a brewery!
