Did Bundesliga Leaders Beat Newcastle To Future Star?

Newcastle were linked to striker Marcus Thuram this past summer when he was at French club Guingamp.

The club had just been relegated to Ligue 2 and the promising Frenchman was available at a reasonable price. Newcastle, however, never followed up on their reported interest and the 22-year-old moved to Borussia Monchengladbach for just €12M.

While in France, Thuram mainly played as a left-winger but was occasionally used as a striker. He scored 13 goals for Guingamp in their relegation campaign last season.

In his inaugural season in the Bundesliga, Monchengladbach have used Thuram as a center-forward mostly. The returns have been outstanding as shown in this tweet from Squawka Football.

Thuram’s form has played a massive part in Monchengladbach’s superb start to the season in which they are four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga.

The French Under-21 international is the son of Lilian Thuram, who was a defender for France’s 1998 World Cup winning team. He is starting to blossom in Germany and looks a steal for the Bundesliga leaders, costing them just €12M.

Lesh…………. I have no problem whatsoever with anyone’s right to disagree. Neither do I mind someone expressing their opinion passionately or even forcefully.
I do however disagree that someone should be made to feel misled, naieve or even foolish for holding a differing view.

I wonder how Brucie will feel when he tells Churnley that it’s imperative we keep Clarke and Ritchie, Churnley completely agrees and they both walk away happy. Brucie finds out from a fuming Ritchie that Churnley has offered him a one year extension on less money???

As well as being distant cousins of each other
Ant and Dec are distant cousins of wrestling
promoter Dixie Carter who did $5Billion worth
    of business last year.
Are you thinking what I’m thinking?
