In a concise statement, Newcastle have confirmed that Jamaal Lascelles will be out until January with the knee injury suffered against Bournemouth.
#NUFC will be without captain Jamaal Lascelles until the New Year after he suffered a knee injury in the win over AFC Bournemouth.
Speedy recovery, @Lascelles16!

The statement on nufc.co.uk does not go into any details on Lascelle’s injury. They just confirm that he will be out until the new year.
The 26-year-old will miss the heavy schedule to close the year, which sees Newcastle play 9 matches between the end of November until the New Year’s Day match against Leicester City.
When Jamaal went off after 20 minutes this past Saturday, Jonjo Shelvey took the captain’s armband. We assume that he will continue in that role over the next couple of months.
Though Newcastle have no shortage of leaders who can step into that role if necessary. Martin Dubravka, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez, Paul Dummett, Isaac Hayden, Matt Ritchie, and Jonjo Shelvey are just a few who, when fit, we could see wearing the captain’s armband in Jamaal’s absence.
In retrospect, it’s been a good policy of Newcastle’s over the past few seasons to bring in players who are top professionals. Newcastle have so many in the squad at the moment.
While Lascelle’s is a big miss at the back, Newcastle should have enough quality on the pitch to be able to continue their good run without him.
