Two Newcastle Players In International Action As One Gets Match Winner

Miguel Almiron scored his second goal for Paraguay in their international friendly at Bulgaria this evening. That proved to be the match winner as Paraguay won the game 0-1. It was some strike from the 25-year-old which can be seen in the tweet below. Miguel was substituted in the 89th minute for Matias Rojas. Paraguay will travel to play Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Ciaran Clark was handed a start for the Republic of Ireland in their friendly against New Zealand. It was his first international appearance since a Nations League match against Wales last September. Ireland won the match 3-1 and Clark played the full 90 minutes. They will face Denmark on Monday in a very important match in Group D of Euro qualification.

So long as both of them come back unscathed.

How come many of our players over the years do better playing for their countries than playing for NUFC? Miggy’s goal will do him the world of good as he needs that confidence boost. Hopefully his toon goals will soon follow now.

It was good to see Almiron score a goal more from the centre of the goal but he never gets that kind of time to line a shot up in the premiership!Hopefully this gives him a bit more confidence to hit things first time in the league
