Midfielder Makes Another Start On Loan While It’s More Of The Same For Striker

Midfielder Dan Barlaser started his third straight match and 14th overall for Rotherham United as they played Accrington Stanley at home.

Rotherham won the game 1-0 despite going down to 10 men and have moved into 6th place in League One.

Dan played the entire 90 minutes for just the fourth time this season; however, three of those have come in his last three starts.

The managerial upheaval at Carlisle didn’t make much difference to Elias Sorensen as ex-manager Steven Pressley’s assistant, Gavin Skelton, still kept the striker on the bench from the start.

Sorensen was brought on in the 88th minute down 2-1 for midfielder Canice Carroll to try and rescue a point. However, it was another disappointing cameo for Elias as he was just not given much time on the pitch again.

The paltry few minutes at the end of this one does little for the 20-year-old’s development. We suppose it’s better than not getting off the bench which was Elias’s fate for the past three league matches. It’s another defeat for Carlisle who find themselves in 20th place in League Two.

    Your a cheeky sod Jib.

Anyway there’s a lot of football science applied at corners. To some it’s just a corner but to me it’s really interesting tactically ..Short Corners , long Corners, back post, front post, , penalty area corner, spot if you like , short lay.

Zonal marking, Man to man marking if there’s a big lanky bugger playing for the opposition..then there’s a mix of Zonal and man marking ..

If you want to know about Zonal marking I can explain it to you Jib..I find corners are really interesting to take in ..watch.

When you see pandemonium at a corner there’s a lot going on ..mistakes occur when defenders are drawn into one another’s zone..overlapping ..then there’s the 2 men on a lanky striker ..makes space for others..theres a lot of football Science applied at a corner Jib

There’s more to a corner than a ball into the box Jib.

Going back to the seventies I recall coaches telling the full back to mark the centre forward .

I hope I have enlightened and educated you this evening Jib and no need to thank me ..now go and watch some corners on utube utube .

    Fascinates me.

Radio Cumbria commentary on the Carlisle game was less than complimentary about Soresen describing him as ” a waste of space” along with some other Carlisle players and even the temporary manager was questioned, not surprising as they threw away a 21 second goal lead to loose 2-1 and bringing Sorensen on with 2 minutes remaining is hardly a game changer.

Ooh that makes a lot more sense Jib. If we signed Xhaka I’d be very surprised. I’d go as fat as to say that we may even have a private investor on board since pre season. It seemed odd the money splashed out but at the same time not beyond the realms of possibility. But if we now sign Xhaka in Jan I’d be very suspicious that Ashley may have brought in a private investor instead of selling the club like we all thought.

Its just weird that we are being touted as a possible buyer for a 40M rated world class midfielder ontop of our supposed summer spending.

There is also the full backs covering each post (most Obvious) as any keeper needs that surety at corners as it’s hard to cover that distance either side when facing point blank headers or shots ..heres something you might like and for future use, it will make your experience of watching football more fullfilling to you as you will know what’s going on after studying this .

    It’s an education Jib.

C’mon man, surely the possibility of Aztecs buying the club has to excite, just think of how all of the shills could be turned to good use.

So Sorensen is reckoned to be a waste of space, that must be doing his confidence the world of good.

It seems he is of no benefit to Carlisle or his parent club so he might as well come back where he’ll get a chance to rebuild his confidence if it is indeed being tested at the moment.
