Injured Star Tweets About International Victory And NUFC Fans React

Switzerland qualified for the 2020 European Championships last night with their resounding 6-1 win over Gibraltar. They ended up winning their group with the victory.

They had to do it without their star defender Fabian Schar who was forced to miss out due to his recent knee injury. It was the first time Fabian had been missing for Switzerland since March when he had suffered a concussion in another Euro qualifier.

The 27-year-old defender sent out the following tweet about Switzerland’s qualification for Euro 2020.

As you would expect, Newcastle fans responded in droves. Many congratulated Fabian for his nation’s big moment. However, a few asked if he could get Granit Xhaka to Newcastle.

Here are a few of the responses to Schar’s tweet.

    You’re definitely a saddo.

On here 24/7 as you’re desperate for attention, I’ve not met many more bitter than yourself, you mask it well whilst sober though.

Jib’s question about who will be Captain next Monday is an interesting one. Normally it would go to the Vice-Captain and then I thought who is the Vice-Captain? After some extensive research (Google & Wiki) we don’t appear to have one – obviously due to Ashley’s cost cutting 😀
I half thought it was Richie who probably won’t play next Monday anyway so my contenders would be Jonjo, Clarke or Dubravka.

Manuel Pelligrini and Rafa have strangely congruent careers
they have both managed Real Madrid , a top team in England’s
    North West , and China.
Pelligrini left Hebei China Fortune and 3 days later took over
    at West Ham.
The Mirror now reckon Benitez may soon be doing the same !

Comfortable win against my homeland last night. Shame Schar was injured or else I could have seen him live. My country’s defending yesterday was very very poor. Shame as we did well first half to be only 0-1 down. We usually do well first halves, it’s in the second when fatigue catches up to our part timers every time. Wish we could have professional football as a profession here in Gibraltar. Oh well, a young team, we’re still learning how to compete professionally.

The Swiss played some lovely football and that kid Vargas is a future superstar. He plays for Werder Bremen and perhaps we could put in a decent bid for him in the summer. Was man of the match by a mile and always looked threatening. Still only 19 I think.

The only 3 teams who can knock us down the table
this weekend are Everton , Spurs or West Ham.
Everton have Norwich at Goodison the other two
play each other in a London derby at the hammers.
