Newcastle have some exciting youngsters at the club like 17-year-old Joe White, who made his England under-18 debut last week and subsequently went on to play in all three matches during this international break.
White just signed his first professional contract with Newcastle earlier in the month and has broken into the Newcastle under-23 team.
However, there is another youngster in the Academy that could be an even brighter prospect than Joe White. That is Lee Clark’s 14-year-old son Bobby, who broke into the Newcastle under-18 side in September.
The Daily Mail are reporting that Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich are all interested in the exciting prospect.
However, the report also states that young Bobby is very highly rated by Steve Bruce. With him being a local lad, it is believed he wants to progress with his hometown club.
Writing in Tribal Football in September, Lee Clark had this to say about his son’s progression at Newcastle:
“My son Bobby, got called up to the Newcastle U18 team which is a fantastic achievement considering he’s only 14 years of age.
“He’s doing well and he’s being coached and taught well by the people up there. When I was out of work I was able to get the chance to watch him play, because while I was in the management game, it was difficult to watch him.
“It’s a tough environment as there are so many good young players around the country. He’s doing well but there’s going to be ups and downs which every young player experiences, just as long as he keeps working hard and listens to his coaches and tries to do the right thing then he might have an opportunity of doing something.”
Newcastle must keep the top local talent at the club. This is especially the case with someone with such close ties to Newcastle, like Bobby Clark.
We expect that the youngster will stay despite the interest from some of the elite clubs in England. Lee Clark seems so proud that the lad is progressing at Newcastle. Hopefully, he can follow in his father’s footsteps and star for his hometown club.

I’ve always thought of a team in transition is one that is in the process of aiming for better things and a year or two of austerity and disappointment can be expected. Not one that is currently 13 years in to it’s five year plan where the only direction seems to be make it up as you go along with every season in the top flight a bonus.

Comment #62Unfortunately Ed is responsible for what appears on here. He is the publisher of libellous comments.
But that is what you get when you allow “ya shyte and scumbags” to constantly get away with their bile.
He, and the wife/Neil – have asked folk politely to try to stick to the blog rules but “ya shyte and scumbags” do not think it applies to them. Probably by extension they also fail to adhere to the rules of society.
