Star Talks About His Ambitions But Will Newcastle Let Him Down?

Newcastle winger Allan Saint-Maximin gave an interview with BBC Newcastle yesterday. Matthew Raisbeck has tweeted the following clip of an answer Allan gave. The question was about what his ambitions are with Newcastle.

Saint-Maximin seems to be enjoying his time at Newcastle for the moment. We have to emphasize the ‘for the moment’ part. Allan is a very talented footballer who has improved Newcastle leaps and bounds since recovering from his hamstring injury, which kept him out of the team for most of the first two months.

Allan’s answer here is quite diplomatic, but it’s obvious to us, he is not going to want to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League year in and out. While his ambition certainly matches that of the fans, it may not align too well with the owner.

As we would expect, Steve Bruce seems to speak to the Frenchman often and has apparently given Allan an insight into what his plans are over the next few seasons. Steve has told Allan of his desire to bring in new players each window to continually improve the side.

Saint-Maximin is happy with what he has been told, but many players have been awed when they first come to Newcastle. We remember Allan’s compatriot Yohan Cabaye being absolutely thrilled with being at Newcastle during his first season. However, the lack of ambition after that campaign led Cabaye to do everything in his power to move.

We hope that does not happen with Saint-Maximin as he has quickly become such a popular player. He is such a joy to watch and to think he is still finding his feet in the Premier League.

A talent like Saint-Maximin is not going to want to battle relegation every year so, hopefully, Steve Bruce will be given the backing the squad requires each window. We have our doubts, but right now, we are so pleased that Allan is a Magpie and can’t wait to watch him again at Villa Park on Monday.

What Will Be The Result In Monday's Match At Aston Villa?

  • Win (55%, 609 )
  • Draw (28%, 309 )
  • Loss (16%, 181 )

You pretentious nerd, I wasn’t being sarcastic, I was giving my opinion on what I associate a team in transition with, no need to insult my intelligence..

Jail, rob leenio took you apart earlier. Your comment about transition was forensically taken to pieces and your stupid illogical post was crass and as always, politically motivated. Well said Rob.
