Here is the team we predict Steve Bruce will send out for today’s match at Villa Park. It has just the one forced change from our 2-1 win against Bournemouth. We see Fabian Schar coming back in for our injured captain Jamaal Lascelles.
Newcastle travel to Aston Villa on the back of two straight wins and with the hope the two week break hasn’t halted their momentum. A win will vault us into ninth place and just one point behind fifth place Wolves.
We expect that Jonjo Shelvey will wear the captain’s armband tonight. He’s put in two fantastic performances and hopefully he can continue with his high level of play against Villa.
One of the big questions is whether Florian Lejeune will make his triumphant return to the team after his second serious knee injury. We think Ciaran Clark will retain his place in the back three. However, he suffered a slight hamstring problem on international duty so we’ll see if Bruce gives the nod to the returning Frenchman.
Sean Longstaff will service his final match ban for his straight red against Wolves. We will also be without Matt Ritchie who is having a tough time recovering from his August ankle injury.
For Aston Villa, all accounts are the their captain Jack Grealish will be back after missing the last four weeks with a calf injury. Villa have had a few players with niggling injuries in Matt Targett, Bjorn Engels, and Tom Heaton who all have come back to training and look to be available for today’s match.
Newcastle Injuries
Jamaal Lascelles – leg, Matt Ritchie – ankle
Aston Villa Injuries
Jed Steer – achilles
Our poll for this match has a big majority of fans predicting a result this evening. Of the 1,099 total votes, 609 see Newcastle getting the three points and spending this week in the top half of the table. Another 28% are expecting a draw which would move us up to 12th. Only 16% of the voters see the lads coming home empty handed.
Aston Villa have lost their last three Premier League matches and will look to get their season back on track at home. They won’t be able to catch us if they do get the victory. However, we expect to see a positive display tonight and are hoping Newcastle can make it three in a row with what will be a very good win for Steve Bruce and the lads.
What Will Be The Result In Monday's Match At Aston Villa?

Comment #3I have a feeling that Jo will score and play well tonight, I do think some people are harsh with him on here as he is obviously judged on goals scored, I think he has a lot more to his game personally, I also think Miggy has really played well recently and backed up the defence perfectly well.

Comment #4Good link on the previous thread toon 22.
Apparently two wins in a row makes everything rosy, including the sale of land next to the ground which more than likely will stop SJP from ever getting an extension.

On a different note? I wonder how many would be purchasers of NUFC have been duped to sign Ashley’s NDA’S? Nothing (or very little) manages to seep through to the people who matter….

I’m not sure we’ll ever get another interested party again. Surely anybody who is preparing a bid and costs of a few hundred grand will surely contact Stavely and BZG to find out what went wrong. How many different groups are willing to wasted up to a quarter of a million pounds to find out Mikey just changes the goalposts.

Have you tried the mensa blog, I’m sure there are more Nufc fans with superhuman intelligence like yourself out there. You can then discuss Nufc to your hearts content with like minded people, it might save you from the frustrations of having to deal with less intelligent people and your violent outbursts won’t be necessary, just imagine the delight you can bring to a blog where people will appreciate your “first” joke.
