Newcastle Scouts At Porto’s 4-0 Cup Win Where Summer Target Gets Milestone Goal

Newcastle reportedly had scouts at Porto’s 4-0 win over Setubal in the Portuguese cup competition Taca de Portugal.

This is the second time this season Newcastle have scouted a 4-0 Porto win against Setubal. They were reportedly there in August for a league match between the two clubs, which also ended 4-0 to Porto.

The most recent match this Sunday featured an opening goal by former Magpie Chancel Mbemba, who has scored twice in two appearances in the cup competition.

A player linked with Newcastle this past summer, Moussa Marega, was also on target for the hosts as he bagged his 5th goal of the season and his 50th for the club. Marega was reportedly a summer target of both Newcastle and West Ham.

Marega has a release clause of £27m and will turn 29 in April, so he does not fit the profile of an Ashley signing. But what he would bring to Newcastle is precisely what we need. The Malian international is lethal in front of the net.

Here is a collection of some of Marega’s goals for Porto which the club has tweeted in honor of his 50th strike for the club.

Who Was Newcastle's Best Player In 2-0 Defeat At Aston Villa?

  • Martin Dubravka (44%, 322 )
  • A. Saint-Maximin (28%, 203 )
  • Jetro Willems (8%, 55 )
  • Federico Fernandez (4%, 27 )
  • Andy Carroll (3%, 20 )
  • Isaac Hayden (2%, 17 )
  • Jonjo Shelvey (2%, 17 )
  • DeAndre Yedlin (2%, 15 )
  • Miguel Almiron (2%, 11 )
  • Joelinton (1%, 10 )
  • Dwight Gayle (1%, 9 )
  • Christian Atsu (1%, 9 )
  • Paul Dummett (1%, 8 )
  • Ciaran Clark (1%, 5 )

Aye just like we didn’t sign Miguel Almiron
    last January

Prat , people look at a post like above and
realise that everything you say is half-truths
and lies , you and your ilk are probably the
main reason Ashley is still here.

So some American Co has bought 10% of Citeh for $500,000,000 – they could have bought 100% of us for that!

The owner of English Premier League champions Manchester City is selling a US$500 million stake to private equity firm Silver Lake, valuing the soccer club’s owner at US$4.8 billion, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing people with knowledge of the deal.

Silver Lake is buying over 10% of Abu Dhabi-controlled City Football Group (CFG), the newspaper reported, adding that an official announcement was expected as early as Wednesday.

The deal was signed on Saturday by CFG Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and Silver Lake managing partner Egon Durban, according to the FT. The report added that Abu Dhabi aims to retain its majority ownership of CFG.

The U.S. private equity firm aims to hold its stake for about 10 years but could also seek to cash out through an initial public offering or selling to another private investor, FT reported. Silver Lake had also approached other European and English soccer clubs, including London’s Chelsea Football Club.

The English Premier League champions drew in record revenue of 535.2 million pounds (US$686.66 million) in a fifth consecutive year of profitability in 2018-19, marking their 11th straight year of revenue growth under the ownership of the Abu Dhabi royal family. The club won an unprecedented domestic treble last season.

Egon Durban is a big cheese in Dell Technology as well.
Wasn’t Michael Dell connected to a Sunlun takeover ?

    Ha ha ha the irony

Their interest is kick-started by the Mackems and they end
up taking a percentage of Man City

    From a Villa fan :

“I wasn’t surprised to see Bruce set up so negatively, triggering my own PTSD of how he used to field the team when he was villa manager. But I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw not a single Newcastle player in our half. You guys have a decent side and more than enough quality to try and take the game to us – if you’re parking the bus against 17th in the table, you know you’ve got problems!”

We clearly gave AV too much respect on Monday evening
playing 5 at the back and inviting the attack
However I think we have to do the same vs City with a bit
    more in our midfield.

When you see other teams warm up they go through some quite sophisticated routines. Bruce has us putting crosses over practicising headers, like the kind of thing you’d see on a Sunday morning in the park. Training sessions are apparently largely set piece based without too much imagination and obvious variation like the corner Bournemouth scored against us.

Incidentally comparing someone’s experience as a dischuffed
footy supporter to someone with post traumatic stress just shows
what a bunch of wankers Villa fans really are

I don’t understand why Bruce never got ASM and Almiron to switch wings a lot earlier in games when its not working out?!

The most dangerous move of the game was when ASM was on the right wing and put a cross in for Atsu who was sneaking in from the other side!

Knowing Newcastle will probably pull another plucky performance and get a result against City no doubt which will mask our deficiencies for another week….

Harper perhaps not the dynamic creative cutting edge coaching force I was hoping for then.

Do feel the Newcastle fans got some decent players in that squad being managed by a dinosaur. That Jonjo Shelvey 40 yard pass was outdated a long long time ago #NewcastleUnited #AstonVilla

R.I.P Garry Rhodes, grew up watching him. From the reports it says he died by his beloved wife’s side, sounds very much like it was expected. 4 years ago he sold everything quit the public life and moved to Dubai. Sounds very much like he was battling cancer. They dont want to release a cause of death as of yet, for some reason. Probably privacy.
