Here is the team Steve Bruce has selected for today’s match at St James Park. It has just one change from the match at Aston Villa with Javier Manquillo coming in for the injured DeAndre Yedlin.

Steve Bruce has decided to keep with the team from last week despite the poor performance. We are stunned with the team he has selected as we thought Fabian Schar and Sean Longstaff would make their returns.
Yoshinori Muto is again left out of the squad despite Andy Carroll missing out with his rib injury. There is also no place for Florian Lejeune just yet.
Here is the side that Pep Guardiola will put out for the visitors.
Your City line-up today! ?
Ederson, Walker, Stones, Fernandinho, Mendy, Gundogan, Silva (C), Mahrez, De Bruyne, Sterling, Jesus
Subs | Bravo, Angelino, Rodrigo, Bernardo, Cancelo, Otamendi, Foden

We hope the lads can redeem themselves with a decent performance today. It’s definitely going to be a tough game for them to get anything out of. As long as they put in the effort and try to keep the score down, we’ll be pleased. However, you just never know with this team so maybe we can come away with something this afternoon.
Howay The Lads!

Comment #83Not clueless, our plan is very clear – to counter. It’s just aside from one occasion the execution of the final pass/cross has been poor.

Comment #84Good cross and Joleinton as ever too slow to attack the space in the box. No appetite to score, no ST instinct. As sson as he passed that out to the wing he should have been sprinting into that space.

Is it all in my head or does he look more dangerous after he hot his assist.

Comment #91In a parallel universe, NUFC continue with the same team from last season (and Rafa) with the addition of ASM and Willems.

Comment #92If Joelinton had a bit of hunger or desire to score he would be a decent player. He should be busting his gut to get into the box or get across the front post. Instead he just strolls forward even when the ball is in wide areas for the cross. He is so static and if he is to be a striker needs a huge amount of coaching on movement.

Comment #93The counter-attack is working great. It would be a gamble to try and close the game out now.

Comment #95Nufc-83, I was being sarcastic about Shelvey being scapegoated after defeats. What evidence do I need.

Comment #96I’d love to see Bruce try something crazy like play Joelinton in an attacking midfield role and play with zero up front. Just to try bring him into the game.
Bruce plays him soo far forward and isolated its pointless.

Comment #97Enjoyable watch. Went by in a flash.
Sort out our final ball and we’ll get more chances. Joelinton off for Gayle please.
Bruce needs to be wary of players running out of energy and get them off when they first show signs. Can’t maintain that intensity.for another 45.
