Allan Saint-Maximin was also in one of the photographs which we originally missed when writing this article.
The 22-year-old Frenchman went off against Manchester City on Saturday with what appeared to be a lower back or hip injury. He was shoved from behind while in a full sprint by Manchester City’s Kyle Walker and landed awkwardly. He was immediately replaced by Christian Atsu.
Steve Bruce said he thought the winger would be ok. And though he is hard to spot, he is in one of the photographs.
The club made the following statement with the images:
DeAndre Yedlin and Andy Carroll both took part in Tuesday’s training session, having missed the City game with knocks, while Allan Saint-Maximin also looked to have shrugged off the injury which forced him off in the second half at the weekend.
It’s good to see both DeAndre Yedlin and Andy Carroll back in training. Both players missed out this past weekend with minor injuries. Yedlin was suffering from a hip problem while Carroll had hurt his ribs in training last week.

Comment #2Well we know how innocuous-looking back twinges can turn out to be very troublesome to shake off. I remember Colo the Curly-Topped Capo twanged himself and he was out for ages. Ok so he was skiving but you know what I mean. 😀

Comment #4Sadly some don’t give a fig about the long term future of the club and will accept mediocrity at any price.
