One Big Change In Predicted Lineup For Sheffield United

This is our predicted lineup for tomorrow evening’s trip to Sheffield United. It features just one change from the Manchester City match with Fabian Schar coming in for Ciaran Clark.

Earlier this week, Bruce hinted at making some changes in his team due to the heavy fixture schedule over the next few months. We think there’s a chance that could start as early as tomorrow.

The thinking with bringing Schar in for Clark is that Ciaran has featured heavily since coming into the side against Manchester United in early October. He’s played every minute of the seven matches since then while also getting back into the Republic of Ireland team in November. He made two appearances during the latest international break.

Schar’s inclusion would move Fernandez to the center of the back three, where we think he is a better fit than Clark. We have Dummett keeping his place on the left. This change would be purely down to rotation and not due to Clark losing his place on performance.

The rest of the team remains as is with Shelvey captaining the side. Despite DeAndre Yedlin returning to training yesterday after missing out this weekend, we have Bruce sticking with Javier Manquillo at right-back.

The reason for that is simple. Yedlin was not at his best against Aston Villa in last Monday’s 2-0 defeat while Manquillo was outstanding this past weekend. That has to count for something, so we think Bruce will have the 25-year-old Spaniard in the team tomorrow.

It’s tough to pick a substitute bench these days, especially with Manquillo back in the team. We have Bruce going with the following subs, but Dwight Gayle or DeAndre Yedlin could just as easily be there. We don’t have Florian Lejeune involved simply because Bruce has yet to name him to a matchday squad.

Darlow, Clark, Krafth, S. Longstaff, M. Longstaff, Atsu, Carroll

It’s a big match on Thursday that Newcastle can hopefully get a result from. We don’t want another stinker like at Aston Villa so the lads will have to be at their best. If not, there’s plenty of Magpies itching to get back into this team.

What Will Be The Result Of The Match At Sheffield United?

  • Draw (37%, 459 )
  • Win (36%, 443 )
  • Loss (27%, 336 )

Seems to me IF GACP were to invest in NUFC, it would likely be only a partial investment, as they already have and are looking to sell in Bordeaux.

Whether that’s with Ashley or as part of a new ownership group remains to be seen.

Pure speculation on my part, based on what I’ve read nothing more.

Has anyone been inside these facilities? Is the manager lying?

“Rutherford believes that the last five years have seen a ‘phenomenal’ improvement in facilities at the training ground and expects to be able to say the same in five years time.”

Not sure this is the problem with this club. Really, I think it’s about higher salaries and, equally, shrewd scouting.

Irish, no probs to disagree mate. Still, I can’t honestly think of any CB set I’d switch with other teams. Hope that’s not delusional 🙂

I’d easily switch our MF with many teams and our CF too. Keeper too. I’d keep Almiron and ASM, but I’d exchange a host of other players. Hope that balances the delusion
    ?

tom – cos that is where his Companies are set up, very lax financial investigation available there and where’s the money from, who are the true owners?

Like you I’d like to get rid of ashLIE, but…. Frying pan and fire come to mind – having said that, look at the value the Glazers added to manure by lumping them with debt.

Mindshaft @ 10:37. Thats total lies. He was valued at 31.5M LONG before we bought him I know this because i spend half my time on transfermarkt, and I’m pretty sure no one on here even knew about the place before I brought it up in the summer.

I posted many links of his price tags on there when we were only rumoured to be going for him to prove that the price we might be paying at the time was a real price, and not made up by Ashley to appease the fans.

If you go on and actually CHECK the the market value over time you will see hes been valued at 31.5M since March and before that he was valued at 13.5M back in 2018, at no point was he ever even valued at 20M.

Transfermarkt is also VERY VERY accurate and has been for as long as I can remember, it’s been around for the past 10 years.

Seriously why are you making this stuff up like?

Odd that this is going on just before the January transfer window ( or as we Newcastle fans call it …….January)
Maybe it’s real this time, maybe Bzg are in the background, maybe it’s Slim from Mexico or one of the billionaire from India…..or maybe it’s a load of blorrocks ……..I have an open mind but most of it has been closed off by previous false dawns, there is only a very distant light at the end of this very dark tunnel

What’s odd about takeover speculation prior to January? It seems to raise its head before any transfer window.

IrsihRob “hes been valued at 31.5M since March”

Isn’t that when Ashley was first rumoured to be looking to buy Joelinton?

But Rob a Rumour doesnt increase a players value, and we still didnt buy him untill 4 months ago, so he was well and truly valued at 31.5M long before we bought him.

Also even buying a player very very rarely increases a person’s value on Transfermarkt, that’s the one great and consistent thing about them, they value players on performance and only performance makes their valuations go up or down, IN MOST CASES!

‘Rutherford believes that the last five years have seen a ‘phenomenal’ improvement in facilities at the training ground and expects to be able to say the same in five years time.’

If the ‘phenomenal improvement’ in facilities included the wheelie bins and kids paddling pool, what were they using before – a big puddle but only after it’s rained?
